NightLight
Has anyone tried these wick sizes. I could only find these sizes at Candle Science. What would you say they are equivalent to in HTP and Eco.?
Arch Rock
Considering that CD wicks start as small as 5 and come in 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, and 26 . . . I can only assume that the 26 could double as a flame-thrower. The highest CD I've ever used in my wax with 6% FO load is the 14 and even then, it was a hot burn with a longer stalk and more mushrooming than any other CD wick or any other wick series. Do you mind if I ask why you feel like you need a 26?
NightLight
I have a custom blend and it needs a hot wick. The wax is viscous and other wicks just drown and putter out and not from burning too much wax.
Arch Rock
Wow. Sounds like the 26 might be worth a try!
Trappeur
I use cd's and that sure is a flame thrower. Can you double wick the jar. If so, why not put up a picture of the jar, so someone can help. Trappeur
GoldieMN
@Trappeur At what width jar does a person start looking at double wicking? GoldieMN
Trappeur
Well lets see...ahhh I would say for me close to the 4" diameter marked jar. Generally don't wick a shouldered jar....well I'll take that back. The country comfort jar in the 16 ounce and even the 8 ounce is double wicked with 2 cd 5's. Why? Do you have a jar that your stumped on? If so, what jar? For the longest time it was just too much a hassle for me to double wick anything and I would never get them centered, but now it's as fast as a single wick and I don't mind at all. I eyeball everything. Don't own a wick setter also. I do so many plus so many triple wicked. lots of my jars are 5" and up wider. GoldieMN
@Trappeur No, just wondered if there was a width that you had to stop trying one wick for. GoldieMN
NightLight
Totally goofed! I wanted to try the CD 24 and ordered the 26 wicks. Hahah they are GIANT. Hoping they can be exchanged.
Arch Rock
I don't think you're going to get a whole lotta diff between 24 and 26.

NightLight
Problem solved. Changed my wax formula and sent the giant wicks back. 😂
