Sponiebr
Anyone got a usage rate for patch? I don't want a "Oh, (gag) GAWD... That's PATCH..." soap... I'm trying for more of a "(sniff) Ah, yes... That's, uh... Patchouli..." kinda soap. KWIM? ETA: My original formulation has me at .5 oz PPO but I'm asking because that looks like A LOT OF PATCHOULI EO to me... 10-Q! TallTayl
Depends on the Eo itself, some are aged and smell better than fresh... IFRA I searched last considered it GRAS so safe up to 100%. It tends to stick pretty well. My people like patch to be really patchy, so I go up to 4-5% PPO with agesd Indonesian. Love a good patch in everything. Yum.

Candybee
Don't think I've ever done straight patchouli. I always blend it. I love blending it with a honey fragrance or orange so you still get that awwwww, patchouli! scent that is mellowed out but still strong. You didn't say if you are using FO or EO. When I am using EOs in my soap the majority of the time I use 1/2 oz per lb of oils. That's slightly more than 3%. 3% comes to .48oz.
