Harder Base!

Recommended Posts

I got some goats milk melt and pour a while ago and it put me off it because of how soft it was. It was almost like butter. Not only that it turned brown a week later. I recently went to this store and they had some melt and pour soaps that were really hard and very pretty. Any suggestions as to any mp base that is pretty hard? I am mostly wanting to use it now for my small embeds on my CP soap.

You’ll probably want to use SFIc melt and pour base from places like brambleberry or wholesale supplies plus. A GM base that soft does not sound right. Was it found locally?

When using M&P in CP, expect those embeds to melt at least a bit. CP generates heat (due to the exothermic reaction of the lye and oils).

Yes, I got it at Hobby Lobby just to kind of try out soaping and see if I liked it before I bought anything more expensive.

Hobby Lobby and Michael's don't carry good quality MP.   Check out the resources above and it should be a whole lot better for sure.   I use the MP from WSP for imbeds and it's pretty nice.

Lots of soap suppliers sell the 2 lb paks of M&P that are great for learning and playing around with. Also, the 2 lb blocks have precut lines on them so they are easy to cut. I would trash the M&P you got from any craft store, they simply don't carry good quality M&P. Use a reputable soap supplier that carries it.
