Trappeur
I just got a request the other day from one of my store accounts as I was delivering an order for a great smokey vanilla fragrance. She said that she has had a few requests actually for smokey fragrances. I did order 2 1ounce samples of smokey vanilla that I see Flaming has. Seems it must be the latest rage this year as they were out of stock on all size bottles except the 1 ounce ones. Does anyone make any smokey fragrances? Was wondering if you could point me in the right direction of where to go.....thanks. Trappeur
TallTayl
Smoked vanilla, I believe, is a Dupe of a bath and body works scent. It’s not “Smokey” per se. Are they looking for the familiar one from BBW? The one from flaming that I smelled is pretty weak to me. 😥 now, I do make Smokey blends using wood smoke from sweet cakes. Blended with a vanilla It’s noting like the scent from BBW, though. ETA Black vanilla from PFO is ok, but also kinda on the weak side IMO. And again, nothing like the BBW one.
NaughtyNancy
I love actual smokey aromas lol! I have a "Fireplace" FO from natures garden I think, and I have blended a wee bit of it with several other FO's to give them a slightly smokey quality. I will add a wee bit of birch tar to a body product's blend to get a smokey effect, too. The smokiness is very, very subtle after a couple hours post-application, though strong (sometimes too strong) initially. Somewhere in the middle it smells wonderful, and then the birch tar seems to work as an amazing natural fixative for the other notes as the day/evening goes on. Kb1993
Hi, have you tried divine vanilla spirit by daystar? i have not and would love to hear someone's thoughts that has. I've heard good things about the company in general. This oil is a dupe of spirituese double vanille perfume by guerlain (heaven in a bottle imo). But when you say smoky vanilla this perfume is what comes to mind definitely smokey vanilla and amazing. Here is the website description Divine Vanilla Spirit Home of the First & Original dupe of this popular blend!Compare “Spiritueuse Double Vanille” by Guerlain® [brand] to our interpretation “Divine Vanilla Spirit”. As many of you know, I am addicted to vanilla, but not the cheap-smelling stuff. When this perfume was suggested to me I jumped to sample it. Our interpretation begins with top notes of heavy, smoky vanilla, to my nose it reminds me of a dark coffee, but others say it is a smoky vanilla-tobacco. The actual notes of this fragrance are: vanilla, spices, benzoin, frankincense, cedar, pink pepper, bergamot, Bulgarian rose and ylang ylang. All in all it is a deliciously decadent vanilla perfume. pughaus
I tried it- it's a very nice fragrance OOB but weak at 8% in a 50/50 coco/soy blend. It is perfumey in a high end way, not so much woody or smoky. I prefer her Vanilla Woods OOB but found that weak in wax too. Throw was 4 out of 10 for me for both . She has some very nice FOs at Daystar- 1 of my favorite all time FO's actually is her Shampure dupe- which is a beautiful Aveda dupe with great throw and Vanilla Mandarin Bourbon which lives up to her WOW description but is $42.00/lb! ...sadly.
