Grungedoll Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Does anyone use or has anyone used KY 133 Paraffin Wax blend from Rustic Escentuals for containers? I'm just researching a few waxes tonight for fun and felt curious enough to ask about it.. How's the hot/cold throw? What wicks do you feel work well with it? Quote
bfroberts Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 To me, that wax has an underlying scent of it's own that came through with most FO's I've used in it. It required multiple repours. I did not get too involved in testing different pour temps, but I think it requires repours regardless. It's a pretty firm wax, so I tried using it up by blending it with a little 4630 for tarts, but still that scent came through. I've still got a few #'s of it I should dig out for firestarters or something. 1 Quote
Sarah S Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I tried the KY 133 for my tarts, I was not a fan. In fact, I still have some hanging around because I haven't wanted to use it. The throw was pretty good, but I could not get rid of the dimples and wrinkles across the surface. Very ugly. And I didn't like that it comes in pellets, it seems like that would be a benefit, but they are so tiny they are almost dust and I always made a huge mess with it. I didn't try it in a container, it's very hard. IMO you'd need to blend with a softer wax. 1 Quote
Grungedoll Posted May 3, 2018 Author Posted May 3, 2018 Well now I know! based off both your responses it doesn’t sound like something I’d want to try, haha. Quote
