Pigment dyes for candles

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I have a ? About my white pigment dye. It says to melt the dye in about 170 to 180 degrees F. Which I did, and than I tried a higher temp, when I stir the white dye up every now and than it comes to the top like little dye circles why won't it completely melt.  And I added a lot and it's still not white like I see other pp videos, what am I doing wrong. Thanks Sherry.

Yes for dipping my carved candles. They say to use pigment dyes to dip or else other dyes will bleed together and not look good after a while, is this really true, what dye should I use that's really a think nice white for candle dipping.thanks sherry

Yes, that's really true. Dyes will migrate and bleed, where as pigments will not.

I use Titanium Dioxide in block form for my white when I carve candles.
