Gardener
Hi all, after carving my fancy candle I dip it in wax than the glaze but I see a few don't sit flat like most of mine do. My ? Is can I level a already dried glazed candle on a old electric pan with glaze on it. The spinning method way, thanks for yr answers. Also does anyone know if you can mix chip dye with pigment dye I bought some new pigment dye but still have a 3/4 vat of the chip dye, thanks again Sherry. Candybee
Are you doing cut 'n curl candles? I think JCandleattic does a few of those. I think she is out of the country at the moment and not sure when she will be back. Hopefully, someone else may chime in for you. Sorry I could not be of any help. Candybee
Don't know if this helps but I level my palm pillars on a hot griddle pan. I always test it with a levellor tool just to make sure the griddle pan is level before working with any candles. I don't see why you can't do something similar. Not sure about the glaze on the pan. Maybe you can just level the candle bottom then dip only the bottom in glaze when finished. Or if you have a painters brush maybe dip the brush in the glaze and paint the levelled candle bottom. Yes, you can level it even with dried glaze. The glaze will melt and then dry just as if it's wax. Yes you can also mix pigment with dye chips, you will just have to make sure the wax is stirred well before each use with the pigment in there because it can settle to the bottom.
