Does anyone know what kind of wax Candlewic's Palm container wax is? All it says is - Crystallizing Container Fill Palm Wax - Palm-1 - I'm just wondering if it's comparable to either Glass Glow or Peak's old Sparkle Lite container palms...

TIA

That's it. That is their container palm. No it is not comparable to glass glow in appearence. Crystal palm wax has more of a snowflake appearance. However, both crystal and glass glow perform the same and wick the same. The advantages to Candlewic's crystal container palm is that they blend the wax in their factory on site in PA so I found it to be the most consistent quality of any wax I have ever used. Another advantage is they keep the cost low because they blend their own so you get the savings. The disadvantage is their shipping. I found I can buy glass glow at C&S and with shipping to my address is within $5 of the price it would take Candelwic to ship their crystal container palm to me. I buy the glass glow because I love the patterns more than the crystal.

I use the crystal palm as a backup in case glass glow goes on a long period of OOS. That happens quite often with glass glow. Customers don't seem to mind when I change waxes. No one has ever commented on it. Both give excellent scent throw and glow when burning.

PS-- beware of Peak's Sparkle palm. I bought several cases on sale year before last. The wax was awful IMO. It didn't form any crystal patterns whatsoever, didn't give any luminous glow characteristic of palm wax, it frosted more like soy when palm doesn't frost. I tried adding glass glow to it to help but found even 95% glass glow and only 5% sparkle still didn't correct the problems. It could have been I bought a bad batch but that was enough for me. I will never buy sparkle palm from Peaks again!

I only had 2 cases of it from them, and am no down to my last few pounds. For me, it wicked exactly like glass glow, but had a better/prettier crystal pattern than the glass glow. I loved it. I never had any of the problems you describe. No frosting, nothing uncharacteristic of normal palm waxes, etc. I had great luck with it.

But now that Peak is - for all intents and purposes - a defunct company, and one I probably wouldn't/won't order from again even if they do come back anyway, it's a moot point.

I always wondered if I didn't just get a bad batch of sparkle palm from Peaks. But 3 cases one right after another. I can't trust Peaks after that so refuse to buy from them.

If you go to the Candlewic website and click on their crystal container palm page you can get a pretty good picture of what a finished candle looks like. When you get to the page, click on the picture to enlarge it. The candle in the jelly jar is a good representation of what the crystalization will look like when finished. Its not dramatic like glass glow or feather palms, its very small snowflake type patterns.

C&S used to sell identical crystal container palm but no longer does. They sell only the glass glow and feather pillar palm. Candlewic sells crystal container and feather pillar palm.

As I mentioned earlier, Candlewic blends their own palm waxes on site in their PA factory. Their waxes are amazingly consistent always. Something to consider when buying wax. Its a huge plus. Anyway, I prefer the look of the glass glow but the consistency of Candlewic's palm wax is why I use them as my backup.

At this point - I'm mainly considering what to buy based solely on shipping costs. I can get glass glow from  relatively inexpensive, but haven't checked shipping from Candlewic or C&S yet, only from Lonestar.

It's all a budgeting concern, at this point, as I've taken in all the advice you've given on the crystal container palm from Candlewic.

Once I figure out shipping, and can determine when I can actually buy, I'll get it done.

I do appreciate all the advice. :) To me, your experience is invaluable.

My stance on Peak is based on how they treated their Colorado customers when they packed up and left in the night without so much as a quick inventory sale to those who definitely would have taken advantage of it, and then how they treated ALL their customers when they went completely out of business, and all the ugliness between themselves, and then them badmouthing other suppliers. I can't give my business to a business like that.

It's all kind of moot anyway as Peaks doesn't sell wax on their website. But I hear ya.

I have to do the same re budgeting. It plays a big part in my decision making. I'm thinking ordering out of PA might be more expensive for you. If you have closer suppliers definitely compare shipping costs.

Yep, I always compare shipping costs for everything, to the point of it almost being a compulsion.

Peak used to be very expensive for wax compared to other places, but because I didn't have to pay shipping, it ended up being more economical and practical to buy.
