Has anyone tried these unique scents from Candlewic?

I have a bunch of Candlewic FO's already and don't need anymore, but I can't just order wax and wicks, now can I? 

 

I like getting a free sample with every bottle ordered so I do have samples of these I'm going to list.  I like them but would customers?  That is the question.   

 

Succulent Agave & Oakmoss - I'm leaning toward this one.

Mahogany Spice

Black Water Orchid

Grapefruit Jasmine

Berries & Herbs

 

When I went to The Candlemaker's Store, I really liked a fragrance called Woodberry.  Lo and behold TCS has a scent description of sorts and it sounds like Berries and Herbs.  What do you think?

 

Berries & Herbs - A fruity floral combination of strawberries, oranges, and apples accompanied by sweet floral aromas of jasmine, rose geranium, and oakmoss.

Woodberry -   Fruity bouquet with notes of jasmine and rose

I did a search on agave and found that some people really like NG's Blue Agave.  The scent description sounds very similar to Candlewic's Agave.  

 

Nature's Garden Blue Agave:   Top Notes:  Kaffir lime, lemon zests, apple, black currant
                                                         Mid Notes:  Lily of the valley, rose petals
                                                         Base Notes:  oakmoss, white woods

 

Candlewic's Succulent Agave & Oakmoss:  T: Apple, Red Currants, California Lemon, Mexican Lime 
                                                                            M: Succulent Agave, Texas Cactus, Water Lily 
                                                                            B: Oakmoss, Blonde Woods, Musk 

 

Wait a minute....where is the actual agave in Nature's garden's notes?

What wax do you use?   I had zero luck with the fo I bought from Candlewic, think I kept 1 scent out of 8 I bought and gave the rest away.  They were so light OOB I only tested 5 of them.

I use GW444.  I've been very satisfied with the FO's I've bought there.  I haven't gotten around to using all of them yet.  So far, the only one I thought was kind of weak is Strawberries & Cream.

 

At first I thought Summer Fresh was going to be weak, but it turned out to have a good HT.  Hot Buttered Rum turned out to be a pleasant surprise.  I wasn't all that impressed with it OOB, thought it was weak,  and still thought it wasn't that great of a scent and still weak when I put it into wax.  But when I burned it, I really liked it!  A really nice fragrance.

 

I got a sample of French Vanilla that I think smells weak OOB, and maybe I would be surprised again if I made a candle and burned it, but I have other vanillas I like so I'm not going to bother.

 

Pumpkin Chai is knock your socks off strong and one of my best sellers.

Berry Tangerine is one of my personal favorite fragrances for spring/summer.

Gail, I love, love, love Mahogany Spice. It's rich, complex, warm and masculine. That being said, people either love it or despise it, there doesn't seem to be much middle ground with that one.

I haven't tried any of the other ones, although I was eyeballing the Black Water Orchid too. 

The two berry ones sound similar to me! They actually sound very interesting, they have that fruit and floral thing going on. I see where you're headed here! 😉

 

Just don't get the Smoke Ginger...so bad...so very, very bad...

 

I still haven't tried the Pumpkin Chai! I want to get that and some of the Buttered Rum, they sound delish!

@Sarah S, I still have so many from Candlewic I haven't even used yet, and here I am wanting to order more.  I will probably end up getting the Mahogany Spice one of these days. I need to use these first:

Besides the ones I already mentioned in the above posts, I have made Pomegranate Cider, Cranapple Spice, Mulberry Spice, Apple Cider Donut,  Sugared Vanilla Shortbread, and Lemongrass Sage and like them all.

 

I wasn't crazy about the scent of Sage & Citrus, and Lemon & Lavender is not one of my personal favorites.

Mahogany Spice ... very nice. It's a good wood smell made a little stronger by the spice background. 

Grapefruit Jasmine ... I got it because I was trying to find a replacement for another company that went OOB who carried the most succulent Grapefruit Jasmine that I used in soap. This is the closest I found but it could use more staying power in soap. I haven't tried it in wax, but am tempted to see how the rest performs in tarts. It's on the fresh side of scents with a bit of sweet IMO. 

Bay Laurel ... was a rave here from someone years ago. It's a terrific scent, has good throw in my wax but isn't a mover here.

I love their Lavender Lemon and it is one of my biggest sellers during spring & summer . I do like many CW Ultimate Bold scents .Their Peach & Sweet Berry is awesome,Maple Butter , Gingerbread Spice cake ,Lavender Lemon,Voo Doo love , Tangerine peach think that's the correct name and more.I have very good results with most all the UB scents .I love their Frasier Fir also compared to C Science ,both smell the same to me .

Helps me to clear more space ,so I can buy more right .PM your address ,no worries on the shipping .You may have something someday you do not prefer & you can send to me if ya want .I hope you can use this one ,it is near full 8 oz bottle .I think I do have the Tangerine Peach ,if not I have Tangerine Berry .I will look and see .I know I really like their Peach & Sweet Berry .I use Aztecs Georgia peach and like this one ,however I am always trying to find one a tad bit better .I sometimes can smell a tad bit of plastic note it in this one ,happens with peach and strawberry scents .I have settled on Flamings Sweet strawberry , so sweet smelling .If you know of a great strong  plain Peach ,let me know .I will get the oil out Monday to you .Send me your address .

I also have Aztec's Georgia Peach and to me, it smells just like a fresh peach.  I never smell that plastic note others talk about.    I've never tried any other plain peach scents.

 

Have you ever tried Peach Magnolia Raspberry? I think it smells wonderful! Got my first bottle from Tennessee.  After they went out of business, I read somewhere on this forum that Southwest's Marketplace smelled like Peach Magnolia Raspberry, so I bought some when I was ordering jars from them.  It does smell just the same I think.  I've already made some since Christmas just so I could burn one.

 

I would like to have a good strawberry.  I have had CS Strawberry Shortcake and so far, I like it the best of the few strawberries I've tried.

I loved Tennessee Peach Mag Raspberry ,miss them alot .I have been searching for a replacement so will place the order from Southwest Market .I like CS Strawberry shortcake as well.I highly recommend Flamings Sweet Strawberry for just a good sweet sugared Strawberry scent ,best I have found so far.Thanks  for the PMR referral.Flaming also has Summer scoop ,has a nice strawberry ice cream note to it .

Has anyone tried the Sun Ripe Raspberry from Candlewic? I feel like I need some fruity fragrances for the summer, and I love raspberry, but all the raspberries I've tried smell like cat pee to me. 😭

Is the Mulberry Spice very fruity? I was looking at it, but since I already have so many spice fragrances, I wasn't sure I really wanted it. But it sounds good!

I'm also curious about Bombshell, I've never smelled the VS perfume but I like several other VS scents.

 

I should be going back up to Doylestown in the spring, I need to plan ahead! 😉

Thanks Gail, I did try Peach Mag Raspberry Frome Maple Street ,was not strong at all.I will order from Southwest ,never purchased from this company .Do you have anymore in mind I should try.I would like to order more than one scent. I am going to go ahead and get the 1 pound bottle of PMR ,love the scent when Tennessee was around .Let me know if you can think of anything else from them.I will place the order on Monday .I have alot of samples coming from Candlemakers this week as well ,so excited to try them all.I ordered alot of interesting ones such as Rainbow,Neverland,Zen Garden,Dancing Waters ,Secret Waterfall  ,Apricot for blending with florals .I chose Cinnamon Sugar for the free one ,hope it is going to be ok . I figure I can add some of my strong Cinnamon Stix to it if need be to get a stronger scent ,or blend with a good Vanilla .I went ahead and spent the $100 ,threw in some 4630 wax to meet the hundred😀

@katmeltswax, now I haven't tried the PMR by itself from Southwest yet. I used it with the rest of what I had left from Tennessee to make a batch.  My soy candle had a good HT with the blend from both companyies.   OOB, they smelled virtually the same.  

 

I have only ordered from Southwest once because they had a good deal on 12 oz salsa jars.  Naturally I had to order some FO's as well. I got Grapefruit Watermelon because it was the fragrance of the week.  It smells OK OOB.  I don't care for watermelon by itself but the blend is nice. Not a favorite of mine though.

 

The other one I got was Cranberry Orange Spice. I didn't think it smelled very strong OOB so I blended it with some of my other oils, like Tennessee's super strong tangerine dream, and made my own Cranberry Orange Spice.

 

Haven't seen many reviews on Southwest's oils.  Of the 3 I got, I would only reorder the PMR.  Maybe you could start a topic on Southwest FO's and see if anyone else has any recommendations.

Great idea on starting a thread on this company.Oh I miss Tangerine Dreams ,never found a replacement for this one .I do love Aztecs Volcano ,however their is a difference between the both of them .I use Fruit Slices also ,love them both .I will start the thread and see if anyone has some recommendations for Southwest.
