FO in wax vs water in a warmer pot?

In any kind of warmer or electric warming pot, can an FO vary in scent when it is in wax in that pot vs when you just add it to some water in the pot?

Short answer, sure. The wax plays a huge part in the scent in a warmer. Each Wax has its own scent and varying melt point requirements to throw optimally.
