Clear Black Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 If I chose to use a jar lile this one? https://www.burchbottle.com/products/16oz-Glass-Paragon-Jar-63-400-pk12_101_product.htm I know there are candles made in jars like this but ive never attempted one. Does scent throw take a severe hit on a tall jar like this one? I would have to really get the wicking down in order for it not to burn exceedingly hot further down in the burn. Thoughts? Quote

Just to edit on this.. the dimensions on this jar are 2.75" wide by 6.75" tall Quote
birdcharm Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 Beyond not having a nice open melt pool once the candle burns down a bit, there is also the issue to access of the wick for trimming, which can be a little tricky; and, there is the dirty glass issue as the candle burns lower. I like tall glassware myself, especially for gel candles, but I always do a "false bottom" in them with sand art, gravel, marbles, shells, etc. and start the actual candle part about 2/3rd's of the way up. When the candle is finished burning, the decorative container can be used for votives, etc. Quote
TallTayl Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 You will need a wax/wick combo that burns pretty darned cool. Those dimensions are similar to prayer candles. Quote
