Crimson Candle Co Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Hello all! Like many of you, I'm devastated by the news that Peak is closed. I'm trying to stay positive and look at this as an opportunity to update my scent lineup. BUT, I'm really struggling to find a replacement for the C 85 wicks I have been using with GB 464 for years in my 8 oz. jelly jars and 16 oz. square masons. Is there an equivalent? Any suggestions on where to begin? 1 Quote
Moonstar Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Try CD wicks or Premieres. I know many on here love those wicks with soy, especially CD's. I remember trying the Peak cotton wicks and I didn't have much luck yet you seem to have good sucsess. Wonder what I was doing wrong ? Quote
Crimson Candle Co Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 Thank you, Moonstar! I've heard great things about CDs, as well. I just ordered a sample pack and can't wait to try them. I'm sure you were doing nothing wrong. The C 85s just worked really well with the jars, wax, and FO we were using. Quote
coconut Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I found lx wicks were much like Peak's cottons. I used to match a c30 to an lx8, so maybe an lx 14 or 16? Quote
Crimson Candle Co Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 Thank you so much, coconut! I will try those, too! Quote
wthomas57 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 I couldn't stand Peak's cotton wicks.. so Id suggest anything else is probably a good alternative. Try, lx, Premier, HTP, Cd, and Eco 1 Quote
