Grumpy Girl Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 I need to match the color of watermelon for a batch of CP I want to do today. I use the pigment lady's colorants, and I have all the sampler packs... I just don't see a mixing chart on her site. Quote
Fern-Marie Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Ok, I have found that whatever wax you are using greatly effects the coloring. But, whenever I need a suggestion for color mix, I go to Nature's Garden, look up the FO, and they will give you a color mixing suggestion. It works for me most of the time-at least gets me on the right path.Their suggestion is 6 drops of red to 4# batch. I wish I could help you, but I have not attempted that color, yet.Good luck to you. Grumpy Girl Posted January 24, 2006 Author Posted January 24, 2006 Thanks fern, but I wanna make soap with it. Quote
Sherri in Canada Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Someone had posted a picture of a watermelon soap made with natural colorants...tara maybe? It looked great..maybe she'll jump in here or you can search the gallery cuz she did have a pic posted and stated what she'd used. Quote
Jeana Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 I wonder if you could get close enough using rose clay, or pink oxide. I recently used rose clay and a smidge of red mica and it turn out like a pale watermelon color. Here are some color places to look at for liquid colors.http://www.colors4u.com/solhblendsA-G.html http://www.thesoapgoat.com/nliquids.htmlhttp://www.efragranceoil.com/soap_making_dyes_pigments.htmHere was the link to Fabfunfur's watermelon soap. Maybe ask her what she used.http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11923&highlight=watermelon+soapI'm sure you would have to mix some of these to get the right color. HTH:smiley2: Quote
blondiee Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Try Pink Glimmer Mica from FNWL. I tried it last weekend for Watermelon lip balm and it is perfect. Oops, I just looked at the label and it says "not stable in CP soap." Guess that doesn't help much either. Quote
