This is 464, 5th test burn, Premier 760, 2.75 inch diameter, CS Snickerdoodle FO at 8%.  750 was underwicked, this is w/ 760.  Hot throw was amazing, flame size good. This was the melt pool (just between 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch) after a 3 hour burn.  Too deep?  Thinking of trying 755, but don't want to kill the HT.

My two cents is you arent even to the halfway point of that jar and already have a 1/2" meltpool. My suggestion is to keep testing and see how hot that gets further down. It looks to me that in the bottom 1/3rd of that container it will be burning a bit too hot. If it does, keep stepping down a wick til u get a balance of safety and good throw. 755 might just be it who knows

I would agree with Clear Black. It still looks to be a deep melt pool only half-way down the candle, however, I would keep testing to the end of the candle and make sure to take good notes, then either wick down, or try a different series of wicks.

To me, that is pretty deep, especially for where it is in the candle's life.

My initial question is what would that candle look like in an hour? Customers don't time candles, and we can't count on them checking the melt pool depth like we do.

What does the candle look like when lit at this stage? Is the flame getting taller or shorter?
