ellajoan Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I am trying to re-create the scent of a flaky Dutch pastry made using almond paste. Every almond I smell is either too almondy, or too artificial. I have tried Peak's Almond pastries, BB's Almond Cybilla and Almond Biscotti. I need a sweet, bakery almond that is not too heavy. Any suggestions? Quote
ellajoan Posted June 14, 2017 Author Posted June 14, 2017 I am also trying an old (like 2-3 years old) sample of Almond Cakes from Lonestar. Any side comments on how long FO last when stored properly? Quote
Moonstar Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Not sure if this has enough almond notes for you. Candle caccoon also has one but not sure it has almond though. http://www.fragrancebuddy.com/tea-and-cakes_type_fragrance-1-2.aspx?variation=1899 Quote
kandlekrazy Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Many of the almond fos smell like cherry to me, to my customers as well. Quote
jaybee Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Quote How about that almond rum cake from NG? Never tried it but I've read on here that it was good...... Quote
ellajoan Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 Peak's almond pastries smelled like permanent marker to me. Quote

I've seen others post on here of having FO's for longer than that without any problems. Quote
