warriorfaery Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 another stupid question but figured if i ask here ill get the right answer.I was told by someone who may (or may not) know what they are doing that it is not necessary it tab pillar or container candles? just measure the length needed center it and pour around it. that just didn't sound very fire safe, can somone tell me yes or no? tiacandi Quote
bugsb1 Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 For me (I do containers) it would be a definate no! not only is it a safety hazard, tabs also help support the wick. with no tab the wick will fall in the wax when you get down to the bottom Quote
eugenia Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Containers must be tabbed and securely attached. Pillars are different. If I use a wick pin, I use a tabbed wick. If I prewick the mold, no tab. I clip the wick so it is below the surface before the final pour. It's perfectly safe and eliminates the bulge on the finished surface of the bottom of the candle.e Quote
Dustpuuppy Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Like Eugenia said.I use tabs in my pillars. You can get by without it, though. Containers have to be tabbed or they could burn all the way down and crack the glass. Quote
