Candybee
I want to make an unscented honey and oatmeal lotion and just wanted to check and see if I can add these to my lotion? I would be using locally produced wildflower honey and colloidal oatmeal so the lotion would be smooth and not scratchy. If I can add these how much per lb lotion? Also, do I need to 'liquify' the honey before adding or can I simply just add it in?
TallTayl
Each of those items is bug food in lotion. Makes preserving a real challenge.
Candybee
Thanks TT. My bad. I already have honey in the lotion but its a kind of cosmetic honey. Honeyquat? Forget the name. I think I may try adding colloidal oatmeal for personal use and see if I like it. Edited September 6, 2016 by Candybee
heartsong
I have tried adding oats in various forms in lotions and having to use maximum recommendation of preservative. You might wish to try hydrolyzed oats...easy to incorporate and you don't have to use as much preservative. http://www.lotioncrafter.com/hydrolyzed-oats.html
heartsong
If I may make a suggestion? Swift Crafty Monkey blog is THE go-to place for all things bath and body. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link?
Candybee
Thanks heartsong. I already have SCM's blog bookmarked. I will look into hydrolized oats. Thanks!
