KJohnson Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Ok I have made lots of votive just not recently....I have never had this problem....I just took my votives out of the mold..and about an inch up the votive there is a white-ishcoloring (the votive is a burgandy color) and tiny tiny tiny pitsI have never had this happen before...Maybe did I pour them too hot??Any suggestions??Also can I remelt them and try again or is the wax crap now?TIA Quote
Texas_Jems Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Hello K,I'm not sure about the white markings and pits, but you can absolutely re-melt those puppies. That's my favorite thing about candles...if they seuck, re-melt and nobody knows. What kind of wax are you using? Also, how much scent did you use? This might help someone answer the white markings quandry.HTHHugs,Jems Quote

What additives? Wax?I agree with Jems, that the awesome thing about candles is that you can remelt them pour them again if they really really suck. Quote
KJohnson Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 thank you everyone...I think I must have poured too cool Im going to go remelt and use a diff thermometer..I bet thats the problemI have been trying to post a pic but it says its too big grrrrrrrr Quote
KJohnson Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 So if I remelt them....do I add more FO??wil the FO that I have in there fade? Quote
Tallbabydoll Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 When this has happened to me, it was because I didn't heat the molds. The cold molds caused the bottom to get the white. Heated molds, no problem. You shouldn't need to add any fo, unless you leave the wax melted on the heat for an extended period of time. Quote
