giedre11 Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 First of all I just found a wax supplier within driving distance!! They have the above mentioned wax and I've been really wanting to try it out...holds 2 oz FO per pound! Anyone have any experience with it? Any info much appreciated! Quote
topofmurrayhill Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 LOL, glad you found some wax to go with your FO. Here's the manufacturer's info for it. http://www.igiwax.com/downloads/pis/parafflex_4627.pdf Quote
Trish Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 It's a very messy wax to work with, the consistency of a thick vaseline. It helps to score the edges of the bag with a knife. Can be a bugger to wick but you won't need 2oz of FO, 1oz/lb should be great. Quote
Divnhog Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 If you figure out how to easily get the last pound or two of wax out of the bag without using a heat gun to melt it out let me know. I had good luck with this wax but got tired of using a heat gun and a heated spoon to transfer the wax from the box/bag to the presto pot.... Divnhog Quote
AngelaVA Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 This wax has an awesome throw with 1 oz pp, but it is super messy. Also, I don't really think that you need to use more than 1 oz pp anyway (with a paraffin wax). I only use 1 oz pp for my FOs and I get a great throw. More is not always better. It can be a waste of money and make it harder to get a good burn. Quote
