Candybee
I got the Ylang Ylang III from Soap-making-resource.com. While its good I don't think its the one I am looking for. Their description reads that it is less floral and perfume like than versions I and II. To me its a bit camphorous and woody rather than floral. So I am looking for suggestions for a more floral Ylang Ylang... or at least one that some of you may love working with. I just don't believe that the one I have is the only example of Ylang Ylang out there. Thanks for any suggestions.
kandlekrazy
I can't help with an fo because I've only purchased lavender ylang ylang in fo. I do have the essential oil straight ylang ylang and it's very earthy smelling with very little floral notes in it soI'm guessing that the one you don't like is probably closer to the true ylang ylang. kandlekrazy
You might try Aztec. My sis reminded me that I put it in M&P way back in the day and it was very floral.
kandlekrazy
ok, checked my notes because Aztec didn't seem right...sure enough it was Wellington that I bought it from. I didn't even remember using it but she swears it was not a typical Ylang Ylang butvery floral. I may have to revisit a straight fo since I like the earthy scent. Candybee
I'm not looking for a Ylang Ylang FO. I have SMR's Ylang Ylang III EO and hoping I can find one more floral than this version is. They say on their website that this particular version was designed to be less floral and more woody. When others posted in the other Ylang Ylang thread that it was one of their favorite EOs to use I am thinking I can find a better version of it. So that is what I am looking for. When I used this version I got soap that smelled a bit too camphorous for my taste instead of floral and I didn't use that much at all. I still think there is a better version out there I will love. Jcandleattic
I got my Ylang Ylang from ED before they did the redo of their website, etc., when it was on sale and got it at a steal. I would recommend them, but the pricing now is outlandish for the EO, so after I'm done with my bottle I'll probably be done with it. I will say though, that I LOVE the one I have. I'm don't really like florals, but this one is so devine. It is more floral than anything else, but it does have that earthy undertone to it that balances it out beautifully... Hmm, I just checked and 4oz is only $11.70 - maybe try them? Oh it does say it's Black Friday Pricing. It's regularly much more than that... Candybee
Are you talking about the Ylang Ylang from soap-making-resource? The only one they carry is version III and I am looking for something different or better suited to my taste. I may try Camden Grey next... I am starting to buy more EOs from them as they have a better price.
Jcandleattic
Me? I'm talking about the Ylang Ylang EO from Essential Depot. If not me, then IDK... LOL
Candybee
Sorry-- reread your post and you did mention ED. I may try theirs as I get my lye and some other supplies from them.
TallTayl
Have you looked at lIberty natural? It's hard to find, but they do tiny sniffer vials so you can smell them all without breaking the bank.
