coconut
My sensitivity to Fragrance Oil has gone over the top and I pretty much have to quit using them, at least for a while. I have access to Oranges, Tangerines, Lemons, and Limes. Anyone ever try to make essential oil from these? How would you use this sort of product? My house smells so good when I'm juicing these fruits, it might be nice to be able to capture and preserve that essence. Any thoughts? Candybee
I know there are essential oil making equipment you can buy to make your own EOs at home. But you will need a whole lot of anything to make just a tiny bit of EO out of it. You could also try drying the peels. Then you could make teas, scented water, hydrosols, etc.

TallTayl
The best citrus essential oils (IMHO) are from cold pressed peels. Like Candybee noted, it takes a LOT of peels to make any decent amount of the actual essential oils. You can infuse the peels into vinegar, for instance, for a nice smelling cleaning liquid
