Bells Bells
Although I have been aiming for a full melt pool on my first burn I have also read that you shouldn't look to achieve a full melt pool until the second or third burn. Would be interested to know what other C3/soy wax users thought?
Joannec
I think 2nd or 3rd burn is fine , as long as the ht is there. However I recently had a candle that someone made that got a fm in the first burn and it burned perfectly from top to bottom without the jar getting too hot. I don't know how they achieved that as normally if I get fm first burn then the wick is too big halfway down.
Bells Bells
Thanks! I don't normally have a problem with the mp halfway down but rarely have a full melt pool on a first burn. So I guess from your comment I'm on the right track! :0)
TallTayl
I don't wick for FMP on the first, or even the second burn. HT is more than just a FMP.
Bells Bells
I wasn't too concerned about the hot throw as part of my question, it was reading different posts on full melt pool that led me to pose the question. Wasn't sure if I should be aiming for a fmp on the first burn or not.
