Question for the wax experts

I have a quick question. My mother got me a oreo cookie pie kit for XMAS and I am making it right now. Unfortunetly, I have no clue where she got it, waiting for her to call me back as I am writing this.

I have never used gel wax so I am not sure if this is what it is. The directions told me to heat the wax up to 200 degrees. I am doing that now.. When I took it out of the package to melt it, it looked and felt like container wax.. But as it is melting,its a sticky looking. Is this gel? I have seen gel and thought it was clear. My container wax doesnt do this so I am not sure what it is..

Anyone want to take a stab at the dark and let me know what this is.. Hope this is what it is suppose to do and I am not messing it up.
