ALLURE magazine contacted me and wants me to send them some of my soy candles for them to possibly do a review in their magazine! I mean, its a chance in hell it will actually happen; but it could be great exposure! now, im freaking out about which candles to send. i think i have the scents narrowed down, though. Quote

lisinka1 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Congratulations! Which issue will you be in? Quote
nayarx8 Posted January 7, 2006 Author Posted January 7, 2006 its not even definite yet; ill let you all know when and if it actually happens. Quote
Freezin Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 That is really greats news. The scent selection sounds good with a lot of variety. They are getting a lot of your candles, they better give you a review Quote
Spellkast Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Congrats!!!! Sounds like a good mix of scents- but do you have anything smaller, perhaps? Seems like a lot to waste if for some reason they DON'T do the review. Plus, this way you spend less on shipping! Quote
cozyaromas Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I think you deserve a :highfive: , it looks like you are starting your 2006 on the right foot. Make sure to tell us the issue, so we can be on th lookout for your review. Quote
nayarx8 Posted January 7, 2006 Author Posted January 7, 2006 my jars dont come in a smaller size. :embarasse Quote
sharyl55 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Great way to start out the new year. Sounds like you decided on a good range of scents. Can't wait to see you in print. Quote
tlc26 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Congrats! I think you list looks good, nice variety. I would say to make sure that you are giving them what you want promoted. If you mostly do the 16 oz. jars then it would be good to send those. If you are concentrating on pillars then I think it would be better to send another pillar. KWIM? Quote
nayarx8 Posted January 7, 2006 Author Posted January 7, 2006 i mostly do the jars. ALLURE told me to send whatever scents i wanted, but that is subjective, so i having to send more than i would like. but you have to spend money to make money! Quote
Sara Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 How cool is that!! Did they contact you through your website or what? Quote
Trish Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 That's really exciting! Congratulations!!My first thought on some of the scents you chose...aren't a couple of them trademarked scent names? If so, I'm not sure if you'd have lawyers after you if they see their scent names in a national magazine... you know? If not, ignore me! Quote
nayarx8 Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 i dont have a website; i need one. but im WAAAYYYY to blonde to be able to figure that one out! Quote
nayarx8 Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 i dont think those specific names are trademarked; i checked it out a bit. if anybody finds anything else out, please PM me. i did change the Vineyard one already to Tuscany Nights. Quote
Trish Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I believe that Lavender Fields and Satin Sheets are both trademarked. You can check at: http://www.uspto.gov/main/trademarks.htm Quote
