craftyinala Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I am having a problem when I use the heat gun to level the tops of my container candles with the wax melting off the wick. How can I prevent this? TIA Quote
Breanna Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Try to get more to outside and not Directly on the wick,,,thats what I do,,someone will chime in,,,HTH;) Quote
Sallykate Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I just make sure and keep to the edge of the container avoiding the wick. Sometimes I accidentaly get the wick but it burns just the same. hthSallykate Quote
Tess Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I dont think you can diminish the problem as long as you are using a heat gun. I used to do that, but decided that the time and trouble it took me to use the heat gun, I could have a done a repour in half the time, and had pretty wicks too. JMO Quote
Mona Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 It doesn't matter if the wax is melted off the exposed wick. The reason for priming a wick is to force out the trapped air before you can use it and make a candle around it. Quote
craftyinala Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 Does anyone know the website for the wick setter that was advertised on the right side of the board several weeks ago? I made a note of site and have misplaced it. I did a search and came with nothing. TIANote: Was trying to do a new post and as you can see I didn't know what I was doing and now I don't know how to cancel and do it right. Quote
