soynut
I am going to make some sugar scrub and I don't have any Apricot kernel oil or Palm Kernel oil on hand. What can I sub for these 2?Would sweet almond oil and/or avocado oil work? Rice bran oil? Thanks,Becky
angied
Hi Soynut, I have only made scrubs a few times but when I did it I used sweet almond oil and it turned out good, I also used shea oil in one. Maybe someone who knows better will help out some more but it worked good for me.HTH:smiley2: Angied
Purple Lilac
I am not familiar with rice bran oil but I wouldn't be afraid tosub sweet almond oil and/or avocado oil they are both excellent oilsAvocado is a little bit more expensive though. soynut
Thanks! I have a new recipe that calls for the other two---but I won't be ordering any supplies anytime soon!I will try it with the avocado/almond.Soynut
jwahlton
What do you have? You can use sunflower and olive oil in scrubs too. Great properties
Spellkast
I use a mix of safflower and sweet almond...and people apparently like it...I'd imagine that most any oil would work well.
Jeana
Don't forget grapeseed oil. You can use it in the mix too. It is supposed to be great with helping other oils absorb into your skin easier. Avo is nice because it is a heavier oil, very good for problem skin.
