Hi Everyone! I am so glad to be here and look forward to learning a lot, as well as contributing as much as I can where I have the knowledge. I make beeswax candles for environmental and health reasons and hope to slowly expand my range of products. At the moment I am only making candles but there are so many items that you can make with beeswax, a very versatile and beautiful product, both to work with and to use. Hopefully, I will get to know some of you over the coming months Thanks for reading Jo
Hello Everyone. I recently joined Craft Server and I'm certainly enjoying it. It's nice to chat and collaborate with people that have the same interests. I have found a lot of good information on this site as well as some new ideas to consider and even test out. It's great that everyone is so nice and free with sharing information, tips, tricks, etc. I have already and will continue to share information with you as well. I have been playing around and making candles for the last 3 years and it has been fun, expensive and at times very disappointing. Many times I have considered throwing everything in the trash and I'm sure many of you have been there too. LOL. But it's like I can't stop; I love the challenge, I love the scents and I love solving problems. My goal is to starting selling them as soon as I have a safe and enjoyable product that I would be proud of. Happy Candle Making! Laura C
What's your name? My name is Cheryl Ann Shipman. Most people call me "Cheryl" but I prefer "Cheryl Ann" for some reason, lol. How old are you? 60 Feels so weird to say that! I knew it would happen but then it did. Where do you live? Just outside of Asheville, NC. Deep in the mountains. How long have you been making candles/soap/whatever? Soap for probably 6 or 8 years. Dabbled in making candles in the beginning, too, but didn't like it then. Now I love making candles and that is my business focus now. How did you get started making candles/soap/whatever? I love making everything! Are you married? Any kids? Yes, second husband (love of my life.) Two of my own and four of his - so six in total even though one has passed. If candle/Soap making isn't your primary job, what do you do? It is my primary business. Anything else we should know? Hippie at heart.
Hello to all the great folks that put their time and effort into this well of knowledge and experience!!! My name is Alison! I am new to candle making and even newer to the website. Quite excited to continue reading and learning with you all, though it will may be a while before you hear from me... I am in the early stages of candle making and want to read through all the goodies to find my way through whatever questions may initially come up- I realize I am not the first person to trip into this fascination with candles! And boy am I glad, because this seems like such a great community! A little about me... I appreciate a good cup of joe, a good book, a good breeze in the trees, maybe an adventure here and there... I love to travel and hike... I have a little black cat and a great partner named Matthew and we are just trying to get through the infamous rainy season where we live. I think that this hobby is going to be great for me because I love candles, and their unique variations they provide to a space. And my heart. I also think I need a lesson in diligence... I've figured out this is not an overnight victory, which makes me even more interested. Really, I am so excited. So hi to all, and thank you in advance for all of your wisdom & experience. I hope I can offer some of my own advice and experience eventually!
