  1. Hi everyone, this is my first post but I've been learning a ton on here so far! I am new to making candles in the past few months. I started with just 464 in 8oz straight sided jelly jars but I could not get a hot throw at all. I cured my candles for 2 weeks and used ECO wicks. I have switched over to a 50/50 blend of 464 and IGI 4630 and that has been a lot better with the hot throw, but now I'm having trouble with finding the right wick. Candlescience recommended an ECO 2 but that seemed too small. I have tried ECO 4, 6, and now 8. They all seem to leave some wax on one side. The 8 also has a pretty big flame. Any suggestions for the best wicks for this wax blend in 8oz and 4oz jelly jars? Also how long do you usually cure parasoy? I've been doing 48 hours minimum but wondering if I need to do longer. Thanks so much for any advice!!
  2. Hi, I've been using Eco wicks (tried ECO 6, 10 & 14) for my 8oz jelly jar candles (C3 wax) but I really don't like the smell of the burned wick and in some cases the wick seems to have altered the candle scent once burned (CS Blueberry changed from nice to nasty after the first burn and I think it's the wick). I've considered making a change before but hesitated since maybe it's going to be a big deal, but I think it's timeI give another brand a try. I would very much appreciate any recommendations for a good size and brand wick for 8 oz jelly jar soy candle. Thanks!!!!!!!!! ?
  3. If wick manufacturers could make wicks that burn hotter at the top of the candle and a little cooler near the bottom!!! This is just a silly post. I'm testing a new box of wax (415) and a CD 10 burns great at the top of an 8oz jelly jar, but a CD 8 burns better at the bottom. The CD 8 would probably work for my power-burning-non-wick-trimmers, but the CD 10 works best for my burn-a-few-hours-only-but-always-trim crowd. I love CD's, but I need a CD 9!!!
