  1. The biggest joy of candle making for me is blending scents. It is a passion of mine...but sometimes, I actually drive myself insane with it, lol. My brain is always in ' blend, blend, blend ' mode and even if I am trying to relax, it always seems to be working overtime and involuntarily spitting out ideas at me. I actually had a dream last night that I was blending like 35% Pink Sugar and 65% Vanilla Voodoo ( yes, I was measuring it out on my little scale in my dream lol ) and just poured it and it does smell amazing ! Can't wait for it to cure ! But geez...
  2. Hey guys! So in the wee hours of last night, before I started a new batch of soap... I started blending a bunch of FOs that I had just bought (50ml bottles, at RM40 each is murder :C) I came up with two blends, if you guys can think of a name for it that'd be great! Also, I'd love to send a soap over to the person whose name I chose (if you would have it, of course!) I'll try to add a description of the scent as well. I am quite limited by the amount/type of FOs that are available locally as we don't have any blended FOs (ex: Aztec's Bay Rum which smells soooo good) so I have to blend them all
  3. I was wondering what everyone's opinion was on blending oils. It seemed simple to me at first but then you start doing it and there's a lot of different techniques! Do you just mix the oils together right before adding to the wax, or mix them together and let them sit a few hours or a few days before using it in wax? I wonder if letting them sit like that would even make a difference? I just make tarts and honestly the best blends I've made are just single layers of each separate fragrance that combine when melted. But this way is impractical when combining more than 2 scents and is much more
  4. I love going through the older posts from years back and finding inspiration from all of the blending ideas that others shared. I thought it might be fun to start a new thread to post all those great blends that you have created, either intentionally or by accident. Here are a few ideas to start Apple Pie & Pumpkin Ginger Streusel Cinnamon & Bayberry (love this around the holidays) Cherry & Lime Cranberry & Cinnamon you get the idea....
  5. I have practically a whole lb of Fireplace FO from BCN and wonder if you have any ideas of some blends that would be good with it?
  6. I have seen several candle companies that let their customers create their own scent blends in candles. How can they do this when that scent combo has not been tested properly?
  7. I want to blend some essential oils but I am not knowledgeable when it comes to top, middle and base note stuff. Does anyone know if any websites that gives recipes for good eo blends?
