We've considered going the route of sending ALL our packages signature required because the 'scammers' or whatever you want to call them have gotten much smarter. In the past four months we've had two chargebacks through our merchant account...both supposedly for non-delivery. In both instances, the USPS Delivery Confirmation showed the package as being delivered, but because they weren't signed for, we lost and their money was refunded. The dollar amounts weren't huge, but the $30.00 each chargeback fee was a killer.

Marilyn, I've always wanted to know the answer to this same question!! I've been tempted to melt the wax IN the jar, mix everything up and then just leave it to see what would happen. LOL

I heartily recommend Sashbox Hosting. Their hosting includes free OsCommerce/Zen shopping carts which support payments via merchant accounts and PayPal, but I feel sure you would be able to just use your own shopping cart if you preferred. Their tech support is the best I've found and believe me I've tried plenty! :rolleyes2 I'm currently using four different hosting services, but have plans of moving them all to Sashbox within the next couple of months. Almost every scent I've gotten from Becky so far has done great for me using it at 1 oz pp. She's my main FO supplier now. Right now I use them in: 1) Golden Brands Plain 415 100% Soy (from Tennessee Candle Supplies); 2) Plain 415/J50 (50/50 blend) 3) Straight J50 Now that my health problems are better and the Christmas rush is over, I'm going to start testing with the new GW444 and GW449 samples I got. HTH

I haven't had a chance to put it in wax yet...but OOB it is AWESOME! To me it smells just like Archway Original Frosty Lemon Cookies. Immediately made me hungry. I'm hoping I'll have time to test it in soy this weekend. HTH

When I bought candles only three things mattered to me: 1) Strong scent when burning 2) Scent (cold throw) 3) It didn't catch on fire when I "power burned" it (8:00 am - 5:00 pm) - which I ALWAYS did Good Poll BTW!

Sharyl - I had a 1315 before I got this 1350 and I never could get it to feed right. I don't know if that particular model has trouble or I just got a bad one. I called HP tech support and we tried everything. I worked with it for two days trying to get it to print right and then I returned it to the store. That's when I decided to get the 1350. This one has been pretty good except when I'm running low on labels. I try to use that canned air and blow all the dog hairs and dust out of mine at least once a week. That seems to help too.

To keep you from being tempted to use them, just send me all your dyes and I'll take real good care of them for you. LOL Sorry...I'm not much help. I love my colored candles!!

Here's another vote for the HP. I've tried several different printers and they are definitely the best. I haven't found another brand that could beat their print quality. One thing I have learned is do not buy one of the low end ones (69.95 and under). They are basically disposable printers and won't last very long. Occasionally you'll get lucky though - I had one that lasted 2 years while most of that model died within 3 - 4 months. The best ones I've used have been in the $100 - $200 range. Right now I think I've got the same one Mona has. I've got the HP PSC 1350v All-in-One. Now the downside...HP does have "feeding" problems sometimes. I've never owned one yet that wouldn't get a wild hair and completely misfeed everything you sent through it. It usually only does this when you're almost out of labels and can't afford to mess any up. :rolleyes2 As long as you keep a good supply of labels, you'll be fine. HTH

Gerrie - those look absolutely awesome! If you don't mind my asking, how do you shrink wrap yours? I want to start shrink wrapping mine and I'm "picking brains" researching.

If it's an aqua color - I would try adding a little yellow (just a tad) to neutralize the bluish tint. That should bring it back to more of a green shade. HTH Edited to add: The more yellow you use will determine how light or bright the green will end up...which is why I suggested just starting with a "tad". Too much and you could end up with a bright lime color.

I really like it! Beautiful coloring and I like the way it's frosted.

Today I did the "Q-Tip" test mixing Harvest Spice and MacIntosh Apple 50/50. It's not bad...it may need a little tweaking, but I think it may turn out to be pretty good. I'm trying a couple of other scent combinations too. I'm going to expermient a little more and then try it in some wax. I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

Thanks to molds from Georgia :wave:and the Rustic Pillar directions eugenia posted in this thread... I attempted my first pillar last night. Here's the end result: Scented Cinnamon Buns. The colors are actually much prettier/richer looking in person. I'm not the best picture-taker.

I know absolutely nothing about shrink wrapping, so please forgive me if I ask some dumb questions. What type of impulse sealer do you recommend? (I looked at the ones on ebay but there were so many styles & sizes- I didn't have a clue what I should be looking for!) How do you decide what size shrink tubing or bag you need? I would like to start shrink wrapping my tarts, votives and pillars. I ASSume the tarts and votives would use the same size tubing, but for the pillars it would vary depending upon the diameter. Sorry if I'm being a PITA.

I've decided there is no such thing as a good Apple Cinnamon. I've tried 5 samples from different suppliers and I don't really like any of them. Right now I make my own blend using 50/50 MacIntosh Apple and Cinnamon Stick, but to me it's still missing something. Maybe I just don't like Apple Cinnamon itself. LOL (<---been wanting to use this one )

Duh...I didn't think about having to wick up because of the FO! I swear I'm losing my mind! LOL I'm pretty sure it has cinnamon in it too - it smells alot like Spiced Pumpkin Pie to me. No I don't have any of the 1312s. Where's a good place to buy those? I don't think I've seen them listed anywhere I normally buy wicks.
