  1. I've only got 10 scents in candles, but 50+ in melts! :-)
  2. I seem to be good in the middle of the night, but I do have a box of peanut brittle by the bed right now.... I had a bag of Rolos in the drawer of my night stand, but the kids found it. :-(
  3. Sweets are my vice. Cookies, cakes, chocolate...I'm all over it! :-)
  4. If it wasn't for the fact that it poops cupcakes, I might be jealous! :-p
  5. In my own personal opinion, and I'm not an advanced chandler, I'd say it is overwicked. I love Apple Harvest! It's a great seller for me in tarts, as I have yet to test it in candles. :-) Good luck!
  6. I wasn't born in the 60's, unfortunately. :embarasse I would have loved to be around back then, minus the drugs. I'm silly and happy enough without them. And I would love to post pictures of my unicorn, but sadly, I can't get any good pics. I guess it has something to do with the magical qualities, and it just shows up as this big blur. It's really unfortunate because she is beautiful!
  7. It's rainbows and butterflies, not peace and cupcakes!!! :-) My unicorn poops cupcakes, though. :-p
  8. I've had customers tell me they were using Walmart's tarts because you know who's were too expensive. I've been told that Walmart does have a few good scents that work great, but they have a ton of duds, too. My customers prefer mine, which are priced in the middle, and they tell me mine last longer and smell better than either of them. :-) I'd think they were lying if it were just my family and friends, but even strangers tell me that, so I guess I'm doing something right! I'm always so nervous when someone buys my tarts for the first time. I don't know why. That's just how I am. :-p
  9. If I could keep a straight face as well as my husband, I would just play along with the stupid questions! It would be so funny to see people's faces trying to figure it all out, ha!
  10. I don't pour candles very often, but I do use 464 and I also have candles made with CS Christmas Hearth. My temps are virtually the same as yours (though my house temp is usually around 68-70), and I do dye. I also pour in tins. I have had various FO's doing the bubbles at random. No one scent in particular. One pour they do, another pour they don't. Sometimes I'll pour a number of candles from the same pot and a couple will bubble, others won't. The slower I pour, and keeping them further apart when they cool, seems to help. I think it's all just to play with our heads!
  11. I want to make real cupcakes, just because I have a sweet tooth that won't quit! :-) I bought a box mix today, and icing, because that's just how I roll...
  12. Being mean gets you nowhere. Like I said, it was just my opinion from what I've seen since I've been a member, which is just a little over a year. I know things were going on long before I joined, so I do apologize to HS for assuming it had a lot, if anything, to do with her. I know that person was a bit stubborn, as well, so I think I just saw a lot of headbutting. :-) As far as this thread, I am a soy chandler because that's what I started with and that's what my customers want. I like it because of how easy it cleans up, and I LOVE bakery scents, and while I've never made paraffin candles, I have burned them and prefer the way bakery scents smell with soy wax. I make mostly tarts, as that's also what my customers want, which is fine by me because they are a lot easier to make and test, lol. I still make candles in a select few scents when requested, but I've pretty much stopped testing new scents in candles because they just don't move for me. But yeah, my main focus is the clean up factor and that I like the way bakery scents smell with soy. :-) Eventually I may venture over to a parasoy blend, but for now I am perfectly happy and not at all excited about retesting everything. :-)
  13. Well, then it's just my opinion from what I saw. I stand by my opinion, and we can agree to disagree. :-)
  14. I'm going to say it....it's a shame we lost such a great and informative member of this group because of the behavior from someone in this thread. :-(
  15. Sharon, I can completely relate! My craft tables are such a mess all the time, always dripping wax all over, and sometimes on my carpet. Oops! Using soy makes it so much easier on me. :-)
  16. I can't help you on wicking that, but I can tell you that you definitely need to make your hole before the wax hardens, otherwise the PB wax will just crack and fall apart. Way too brittle, yet I keep forgetting and trying anyway. I have to heat up my wick pin and slowly, slowly, slowly try to gently put it through, reheating constantly....pain in the butt! :-)
  17. Chocolate/candy turtles are yummy! Aquatic turtles, hmmm, probably not. :-p We have a turtle, actually. His name is Franklin. :-) ETA: The aquatic turtle is named Franklin. Not the edible kind. I don't name my food, especially treats, because then I'll feel bad eating it.
  18. My mom calls them her own private tropical vacation....
  19. I also use straight Ecosoya PB for my tarts and haven't had any problems.
  20. I use it at 8% in Ecosoya PB and I test each scent to last at least 10 hours, though my customers all tell me that they get much longer out of them. Hansel& Gretel's is one of my top selling scents! They keep coming back for more! :-)
  21. I saw this "idea" posted on FB earlier today. http://draftmag.com/features/how-to-bottle-cap-candles/
  22. I use JD Wholesale to get my warmers. I just get the two-piece warmers that use a hot plate to warm the tarts. I like them, and they have other warmers, too. You don't have to buy in bulk (though you get a discount if you do) and I haven't had any problems yet. Granted, I've only ordered about 4 dozen throughout the past year. :-)
  23. I registered with Ambiescents, but it says you have to have a brick & mortar store, that you can't sell them online or at flea markets. :-(
