  1. I have a request to make a sage green coloured candle. I am struggling to figure out what colour combinations to use to make a sage green colour. TIA Pam F
  2. Craft Wholesalers have them, your search through Everyday Ornament section you will find them. They have a lot of different items, and are good to deal with. Their site is sometimes difficult to find what you are looking for. http://www.craftwholesalers.com/Everyday-Ornamentals-C3353.aspx?Page=3 Pam F
  3. For my pillars I use 1274 from Canwax, for wicking I use a 27 ply for my 3 inch. The one time that I made one, I use a small battery operated milk frother for whipping the wax, it worked well. I never did get around to burning it. Pam F
  4. I have one and I absolutely love it, I find it very accurate, and the fast reading that you get from it, is so nice. Pam F
  5. I should have specified that my label now has all the necessary safety and company information on it. I was just wondering if I should place a label on my jar with my Company name on it for a more professional looking jar. My labels now are professional looking but I just wondering if it would give it a even more professional look to them to have a label on the jar. But my main concern is, would it be a fire hazard to have a paper label on the outside of the jar with a heating element under the jar. Pam F
  6. I usually label my wickless jars, with a hang tag. But I was curious how others label their jars. I was sort of wondering about putting a label on the jar as well, with my company information. I would still put a hang tag on it as well with the proper use of a wickless jar. I will putting some of my items in a store starting the first of July and was thinking if I should put my company information on the jar too. TIA Pam F
  7. I use the paper bags with twist handle (made from recycled paper) for all my candles they are extremely strong and durable, I wrapped my products individually in tissue paper. Customers really appreciate a nice looking paper for their purchase, it is amazing the comments you get. Pam F
  8. I usually use 3 heaping tbsp of stearic to 1lb of 1274, and have no sweating and doesn't affect to mottle look. Pam F
  9. I have purchased them woodcrafter http://www.woodcrafter.com/hardware-2.aspx Pam F
  10. I have done these both ways, but as gifts only. There isn't any reason that unscented tealights can't be burnt in both, what I done when giving them as gifts was just package up store bought tealights to put with the gift. Pam F
  11. I was just looking at their website, and was reading in the About Us part, and there was a statement in there about shipping to Canada and abroad via Canpar. I would send them a e-mail and ask for sure. They have great customer service and I am sure that they would help you out. I get a lot of supplies from them and have had nothing but excellent service from them. Pam F
  12. I have never seen them on any of the American websites, I live in Canada and purchase them from a Canadian supplier called Village Craft and Candle. They are called maxi tealight cups. Sorry I can't help you with any other suppliers. http://www.villagecraftandcandle.com/categories.asp?cID=132 Pam F
  13. To paint on candles, you can buy a medium that you add to your arcylic paint. I know one place that you can purchase it is Michael's. Pam F
  14. If you used a hurricane wax you should be able to burn tealights in them, but I would only use the plastic cup type. Regular pillar wax is just not hard enough to use with a regular tea-light. Pam F
  15. When I use stearic it doesn't affect the mottle of my candles, it helps control the bleeding of the fragrance oil. Vybar will affect the mottle of your candles. Sorry I don't about using both at the same time I have never done this. Pam F
  16. Bittercreek has them. Pam F
  17. You wouldn't believe how many people at craft shows ask about the bears and how they burn. I have to explain to them that they are an air freshener only. I clearly state on my packaging tag that they are not a candle and can't be burnt. Pam F
  18. I use pillar wax for my electric grubbies. Never have any difficulty with the wax melting from the bulb. Pam F
  19. Thanks for everybodies suggestions. I like the idea of the 3 different layers as I do imagine red being in the candle states that it is Santa's Workshop and should be a fun looking candle not serious looking. Now I just have to get my butt in gear and pour my candle, and test it. Thanks Pam F
  20. The sweet smell of Santa's pipe mixed with the scent of his workshop (eg.sawdust)is what they describe it as. I can't say that I get those smells from it. That is what is making it more difficult for me to think of a colour
  21. Any colour suggestions would be great, I hadn't even thought about a combination of colours. My brain has just been so stuck with this scent. Pam F
  22. I have a fragrance called Santa's Workshop, but I'm lost in what colour to make my candles. My first thought was red, but anybody have any other suggestions. Pam F
  23. Just finished my 2 day show this weekend, I had my all time sales at this show, for the combination of the two days I doubled my usual sales. It was so nice to have customers that were looking for you, it makes you feel good about your product when you have repeat customers hoping to find you at a show. Pam F
  24. I just did my first show last weekend, my sales were very good. After the show received a phone call for more of my dipped bears. I have another show next week 2 days, I really not sure what to expect from it, the sales seem to be down each year, but they are changing some things up this year maybe it will help. My Mom was saying that she heard it advertised on the radio last week, first year they have ever done this maybe it will help here's hoping. Pam F
  25. The 25 watt should work fine, the candle warmers that I use for my wickless candles are 25 watts which work great. Pam F
