  1. I love the dramatic color scheme. Perfect for the fall and winter! I also like how you placed your logo at the bottom of the candle in silver. It compliments the candle colors without taking away from the overall feel. Well done! Lacey Candle Making From Home
  2. I'm curious if you submerged the mold in cold water when you cooled it? That was what I have done in the past with large candles like these and it speeds up the time to solidify dramatically! Since you used chunks in the center, the candle hardly shrinks at all during the cooling process. As long as you heat up the exterior of the mold with a hair dryer prior to pouring in the hot wax, it still gives the candle a glossy finish. I hope that helps if you decide to make more large candles in the future It looks gorgeous by the way! Lacey Candle Making From Home
  3. I would really like to see this idea. When you get things up and running on your site, let us know!
  4. Have any of you found any additives that increase your throw with soy wax? When I use any type of additive it causes odd formations in the soy wax and doesn't seem to increase the scent. I'm also having problems adding dye to soy. I've used liquid, dye blocks and dye chips and nothing gives a consistent color throughout. It seems to either leave streaks or retains more color at the top of the candle. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Hi, I really like using small tabs in my candles. I pour a small layer of wax in the bottom of the container and allowed it to cool slightly before placing the tab in. Then center the tabbed wick and use the soft wax as an anchor. This also prevents the tab from being visible from the bottom of the jar if you're not using a sticker on the base. The tabs come in a variety of sizes, so you just have to see which size works best with the wick you're using as well as the container. Lacey
