  6. All bittercreeks fos are god or great. have yet to find a bad one. They also stand behind there products.
  7. Bev you can purchase dpg from bittercreek. Most carry this tho. dpgs main use is for cutting fos to be used for making incense. With out dpg incense smoke too much.
  8. I would start with container candles. Then work your way up. I have learned as evryone here has. Candle making is not easy. But with practice you will master the craft.
  9. Hoby lobby wax and fos were my first candle making supplies. Thankgod I found bittercreek lol. For tarts or firestarters the wax is fine when on sale.
  10. You can get cancer from evrything lol. Eos are to be respected. I prefer them over fos. You have to check wich notes they are. Light medium or heavy. I have been studying them. Knowledge is there. go to your library. They will have several books on this subject. Search aromatherapy.
  11. Sharon there heated expanded volcanic rock. They are light lol. You can aslo sell them as vacuum cleaner freshners. They vacuum up like a dream. Works for all vacuums. people will spend 2 to 3 bucks for a tablespoon full.

  14. Candleman perlite will soak up fo. Takes about a week. I have used cinaberry and cherry with no prob. Lasted about 3 months in a car using a organza type bag.
  15. vermiculite wich is heated volcanic rock. I would use half and half. Perllite wich is heated mica is also a good one. It looks like cork lol. The problem is there very light. You can add some rock salt or sun gems. I have found there all good at holding the scent. What i have found is they dont last for ever. 2 Months is good. In my opinion. Another use for vermiculite is vacuum cleaners also.

  18. I bake mine at 275 for 10. Worked out good. Remember tho evryones oven is different. I suggest you buy a thermometer for the oven.

  22. The gentle man that installed my friends wood burning stove. Stated that pine is ok as long as you use oak ... other hardwoods also. The key he said was to having a good fire going. All wood will produce creosote. I agree pine can lead to creosote buildup faster. However if you clean your chimmeny or have it done. This will never be a problem. I have had a woodburner in my garage for years. I burn pallet wood pine any thing except plywood of course. I have never had a big buildup. I also grew up with a fireplace. we never had a chimmeny fire. The main problem with pine is it burns too fast. Oak and other hard woods burn slower.
  23. You can burn any kind of wood you like in your fireplace. the small amount of pine your using would not be harmfull. Plywood is a big no no. Even that in a fire starter is no big deal. Not a signifacant amount.
