  1. Since her prices went 'through the roof', I don't order as much from there anymore. I like the free shipping, but... i don't know. Maybe if the coupons were off of an entire order, then I could see it.... naaa. I'd still think $100 is too expensive.
  2. Uhhh, so I was on Facebook and noticed a post from WSP. Apparently their Coupon books are going on sale at the beginning of the year. The cost is $100. Hmmm. I think I might need a coupon for the coupon book! Are they serious? Am I the only one that thinks it's crazy to buy a coupon book to a store... I mean, I understand the Entertainment guide and all, but am I really saving if I bought the savings?
  3. Thanks, Carol. I was actually thinking about mixing Aztec's sugared spruce with JS harvest because I have some aroma beads soaking in those two fragrances side-by-side and I love the way they smell together.
  4. Can anyone suggest an awesome scent that smells like cinnamon and pine --like what you smell when you go into department stores at Christmas. Thanks
  5. Aztec has them. They call them "Deco Beads". Here's the link: http://www.candlemaking.com/store/Deco-Beads-P2172C17.aspx
  6. I agree about scentoils.com . They really messed me up earlier this year. I kept getting the runaround and lied to. Steer clear.
  7. Kroger had some really cute christmas bowls on sale. They are manufactured by Libbey and look like little candy bowls. Do you guys think they would be candle-safe since they are made by Libbey?
  8. I have never tried the SOS grade, but I have tried ultra vs. extreme, and I've found ultra to be just as good as extreme. They are pretty strong, and perhaps you could cut back (I'll let that be your judgment). It also depends on what you are using them for. I mostly use mine for candles. I found ultra to be fine for that purpose. For bath and body products, I found that it is easier to cut back on the amount that I use to make the bottle stretch. I try to read the reviews as some of the people actually tell what concentration they used and the application in which they used them. HTH
  9. I haven't tried KY's either, but Millcreek has a wonderful one. www.mcsoywax.com
  10. Thanks for the info BonBon! Have you noticed a burnt smell or anything that might indicate that the bulb is too hot? What kind of wax are you using?
  11. I just happened to be on their website and found out. I didn't get the newsletter even though I subscribed to it. Go figure. Anyway, I've used their Hawaiian Breeze, Kumquat, Stargazer Lily, and Strawberry Cheesecake. The kumquat is sooooo strong that it's sickening, so I used it was a mixer with fruit slices because I was having problems with the way fruit slices was burning. The Strawberry Cheesecake smells like one of those old-fashioned lollipops with the strawberry on the top and cheesecake flavor on bottom...so more like strawberry candy. Stargazer Lily smells wonderful to me. It almost smells like hyacinth, which is one of my favorites. Hawaiian Breeze was a Godsend for me because I was using Tropical Infusion from Just Scent and they discontinued it. Since it was one of my bestsellers, I spent a lot of money trying to find a twin, and I hit it right on the money with LS's Hawaiian Breeze. I wanted to try their Cranberry Peppermint and some of their other christmas scents. Anybody tried the Cranberry Peppermint or anything Christmas from LS?
  12. How come you guys didn't tell me that Lonestar was having a sample sale?! LOL Oh well, I found out anyway, here I go a'shopping! j/k I just thought I'd let you guys know.
  13. lol... I understand. I did the same thing when I looked the other day.
  14. Pixie, On the top, before the description is given, it says that they are out of stock until October.
  15. Stella, I will do that because I made some for gifts last Christmas, and everyone loved them. I've had some people ask me to make them again, but I'm a container girl. However, I might give it another shot depending on what I find on here. Thanks
  16. Thanks, dnj! I think I am going to give it a try. I've used the feather palm before. It's nice, but I don't think I'm very good at making the pillars. They smell good, but they burn down the center leaving a shell around the outside...are they supposed to do that, or is the candle supposed to totally be consumed?
  17. Thanks. I know. I REALLY hate to have to pay so much more for it AND THEN have to pay additional shipping costs, but oh well, I guess I gotta do what I gotta do. I thought about doing some in glass glow and some using candlewic's. I know Candlewic's is not glass glow, but does it throw as well as the glass glow?
  18. I'm so glad I saw your post! I needed to order some for a flea market on October 1 . I don't know what I'm gonna do?!
  19. No. Those nubs are considered the base. The base you are looking for is GU10. The shape you are looking for is MR16. I did see some on homedepot.com, but all I saw were the 35W and 50W ones. I just thought 35W might be too high, but if not, shucks, that's what I'll go with. Vicky, what wattage do you use?
  20. I will suggest that you call and make sure they have what you want in stock before you place your order.
  21. BEWARE!!!!!!!! ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK! I have ordered from this company on two different occasions. Yes, they have nice stuff; however, they are ALWAYS out of stock on things and they don't communicate it on their website. The first order was in November, and they messed up my order. They didn't let me know that some of the items were out of stock and simply substituted some warmers to make up for a few of the ones that were out of stock and just shorted me the others. When I called about it, they said they would straighten it out. The 'replacement' order was incorrect too! When I called back, she basically told me "too bad". I decided to give them another try last month. I asked when my order would ship. She told me Friday (this was a Wednesday). I called Friday and she said Monday. She said that two other ladies had just chewed her out about the same thing (bad sign) On Monday, she said they were behind because they had moved warehouses (the same thing had happened in November except then their warehouse had burned down), and they still had not shipped it. She said they would try to get it out. Well, she called back within the hour and said that they were out of stock on three of the styles I had ordered, I said okay. She called back about thirty minutes later and said they were out of stock on two other styles. By that time, I was like 'forget it'. I really hate it because my customers like their warmers, but they are so unreliable, that I can't keep putting myself throught it. I just wish they would take the out-of-stock items off of the website or put an expected ship date or something. Anyway, good luck with this company!
  22. Yes, I was talking about the Halogen bulbs. I just figured that it might not be a bad investment to have a few on hand in case my customers can't find replacements. Also, I don't mind waiting on warmers from CW...I don't want to have wait forever on bulbs too.
  23. Okay, so I really love the style of the warmers from Candle Warmers, etc.;however, I do not want to put my customers in a position that they would HAVE to get their bulbs from them, nor do I want to have loads of light bulbs laying around waiting for people's warmers to go out, so I went on the hunt. I found that Amazon carries the NP4 and NP5 bulbs, but the NP5 has horrible reviews! Fortunately, one of the reviewers left a remedy after being frustrated that the replacement bulbs burn out quickly. She said that a 20 watt version does just fine. My logic is that they claim that their bulbs are have a more concentrated downward stream of light which may be important for the aurora lamps, but I don't think it really matters for the illumination warmers because the light will be enclosed under the wax/oil and will be reflecting off of the walls of the warmer so the wax should still melt. Here is the information that I found for the NP5 type: The style of the bulb = MR 16 The type of base = GU10 The voltage = 120V I figure the wattage could be between 20 - 25. I have found that 20 is a little (just a little) easier to find, but since most of the warmers I've used have a 25watt bulb, I decided to search for that. www.bulbs.com has one that comes in a case of six for around $32 dollars per case. They seem to have a same-day shipping policy and are located in MA. $8.90 ground shipping. www.lightbulbmarket.com has one for 8.58, slightly higher, but I think you can order a single bulb. They are located in OR. $9.30 flat-rate ground shipping. I read the manual for those warmers and saw that they stated that while it is possible to find bulbs that fit, they won't melt the products. Bull hockey! Unless they are using some unheard of wattage, I'm sure we can find a way around this. I plan to try a couple of different bulbs when I get my order in, and will try to remember to post the results. HTH
  24. I just saw that! I'm thinking 'why not one long email?'
  25. **UPDATE** The refund finally showed up around midnight Saturday. I hate bad customer service. I guess I feel like all companies should care about their customers the way I care about mine. After all, no customers = no cashflow. Now I'm bummed that I don't have any warmers. I like the ones from candlewarmers.com, but fromw what I've read on here, they use proprietary bulbs, and that's no good for my customers. I absolutely HATE the glass ones I've seen, so I guess I won't be able to take the candle warmer avenue. Thanks everyone for your thoughts!
