  1. I actually am in the middle of testing with CD wicks right now... the 12 is tunneling the 14 and 16 still have a little bit of wax on the side of the tumbler. However im thinking that an 18 may be way too big.
  2. I think im gonna shoot with the CD wicks and see how they work out.
  3. Yes, I was def. power burning the thing... I was pretty comfortable with the wicking until this... Throughout the LX sizes i wasnt trimming the wicks before each use because I doubt costumers will be doing that.. So i really wanted to put it to the test. I have since changed to CD wicks and will begin testing them and take STELLAS advice on sizing for the bottom half.
  4. Ok..... so I'm doing quite a bit of testing on my candles... This happened during a test with ecosoya and lx-22 wick ( hence all the soot) . It was burned down to the tab and all of a sudden pop! I just ordered a bunch of these and now im concerned if this is safe or if i just had a defective glass.... Has this happened to anyone else?
  5. OH MAN!! yea thats down there! I live in the city and it may even cost me the cost of shipping on gas!!! : /
  6. I just gave them a call! Now I just need to find a Ecosoya cb135 distributer in Chicago and ill be set!
  7. Is there going to be a difference between the cd's and the cdn's performance... Is one superior?
  8. I'm looking for glass tumblers comprable to this: http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/products/candlecontainers_libbey-tumbler-hb-rocks-11oz.html Shipping costs almost as much as the candles so I would like to get a place nearby. THANK YOU!!!
  9. The bean is closed... where else can we get CDN wicks at?
  10. OMG!!! I couldnt find the southwest website but look how expensive they are on lonestar! http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/products/candlewicks_cd-14--6-wick.html
  11. Do you know of a good distributer of the the cdn wicks? All i can find is australia and a place in wisconsin that has them only in 12" long...
  12. What size CD wick you guys using for 11oz tumblers??? i really am fond of eco wicks tho but not sure that works well with ecosoya wax.... And I really am putting an ounce of FO per pound!!
  13. This happened with two different containers and two different FO's and Two different waxes. The tumbler is 3 inches across and im using the LX 26 with ecosoya CB-135 ( no additives or CO. One ounce per pound of FO. Burned for about 4 hours. and the wick was probably half inch long. WHAT WICK WOULD YOU GUYS SUGGEST??
  14. I am using an 11 ounce tumbler with ecosoya 135..... I keep getting this mushrooming!!! I'm thinking of switching to eco wicks but wanted to know what if maybe it was something i was doing.
  15. Ok so is there any tips for pouring directly into tumblers before i begin? so far heating glass ( to eliminate wetspots) washing them out (common sense) im going to be testing with wicking and was wondering if theres anything else i should keep it mind.
  16. Yes i tried putting them in a oven so will see if this does the trick...
  17. I'm using eco 14 wicks and 8 ounce candle tin... Ecosoya 4 parts to 464 1 part with 1 ounce citronella FO. My apartment is a little on the cool side so this may be part of the problem... but i get really heavy holes just like the picture that the girl was having. MAYBE I SHOULD PUT THEM IN THE OVEN TO COOL????
  18. oh yea... these are POSTBURN!!!!! my tops are fine after initial pour.
  19. I keep getting these with Ecosoya 4 parts 1 part 464 .. heated to 185 poured at 135. with once ounce citronella... cant seem to stop them from happening been testing for weeks! even removed the coloring.
  20. Thanks stella!! im going to try that i remember a post you put about the cooling before... And I burned all the candles ( im reusing the tins to save money) but basically post burn it looks like a worm hole... so possibly tunneling...
  21. yea I took the dye out and even put less FO ( citronella) and still sink holes.. im gonna try eco 4 parts to 464 1 part and see if this will correct the issue... However i was really hoping to keep the 464 for the throw attributes... and advice from here?
  22. Yea im getting frustrated. Im using ecosoya and 464 blend.. I figured that if i added more Eco ( 3 parts) to 464 ( 2 parts) it would correct the problem of the rough tops but it just made it worse. I also added less dye because i thought that was the problem. It wasn't.. maybe ill try less FO but I'm just confused why im getting the post burn HEAVY sink holes as i thought eco would control that. Pouring at around 135.
  23. So im looking to screen print my logo on my glass votives and tumblers.. Does anybody have any experience in how to do this?
