  1. I am glad it worked out for you. I have only had 1 or 2 in all the time I have done this-but sometimes people just want to speak to a real person-and not get my answering machine etc. I called and they asked the questions-and I got a new client that was neither high maintenance or a pain. Some people don't have long distance OR they didn't want to bother me while I might be in the middle of something. Customer service used to mean something and I guess although I wouldn't call somewhere and ask for them to call me (as I have free long distance) I am open to calling "would be" customers. BUT I also understand where you are coming from. And on a side note I have had a few call me-and caught me off guard or wanted something that wasn't on my site-I wish they had emailed me first....so I could have avoided the hassle. Just depends on who you are I guess.
  2. I agreed on the shipping is Evil for 3 years. What I didn't like was I would "charge for order at time of order" and charge for shipping at time of shipment. It was double work, but I did it for 3 years-until I found www.auctioninc.com . I have to say since then I haven't had any issues with under estimates, except 1 and that was because I didn't have the weight properly. Otherwise it is right on target as long as you set it up right. I actually have it on 2 sites. I do offer "local" pick-up as I have customers that come and pick up & if I had someone pick that, that wasn't local? I would figure out the shipping and send them a request- It is the only thing I have found that works with Mal's and is easy. So I agree with Keri.
  3. My least favorite are Lavender, Clean Cotton (I don't care for or Fresh Linen), but Chocolate Kisses always gave me an instant headache. Now I found a chocolate that doesn't. Campfire S'mores is not a favorite either but I pour it. Otherwise I don't have any that I will not pour or cannot stand. I feel pretty lucky after reading all the posts of the scents that make people sick.
  4. I agree that MC's doesn't have the "chili pepper" kick to it. I left it that name though as I thought someone might smell it even though I didn't. I like the idea of adding some chili pepper to give it some extra.
  5. Well I feel better now. I bought a little bit to try, and thought it was so expensive, I couldn't imagine trying to sell and make a profit, let alone wholesale. I really didn't like working with it either-although I did like the clearness..lol Glad to see I am not the only one with a price issue.
  6. Very cute. I can't answer your question of if you should have added something. I more or less wanted to let you know I thought they were cute.
  7. Do you have Microsoft Works? I just start with my first scent once I have my first row done, I copy (highlight and hit ctrl c) and then go to the next row, ctrl v....then when I need the next scent I replace the scent name and do it again until I have filled up the page. Unless I am misunderstand your question-but I am then able to print all 80 off at one time.
  8. I have never heated my jars except for the time it got really cold in the room I was pouring and I put them near the woodstove while in their boxes. I guess I have never heard of doing this. So not to sound silly but is this after you poured or before you pour...lol Doesnt sound like something I would do as when I pour candles I wouldn't have room in my toaster oven or my oven for the amount I pour at a time. But was just curious what made you decide to do this.
  9. I don't think it is a dumb question. I have a few that "settle" so I may shake them but normally I don't.
  10. I use a kraft label rectangular with the scent, caution and my logo. I cut a bit off of each side so they fit nice right in the middle. I sell them in 3 packs wholesale for $5.00, I offer them in cello or loose but all 3 have to be the same scent. Retail I do them singly-which I would rather not but just don't offer as many scents and sell them for $3.50 a piece. OR 3 for $10. I have more wholesale people buy them than retail so that is how I do it...lol
  11. I have used the Vanilla Hazelnut Mocha for years and it is a favorite of my customers. The sweet orange & chili pepper I think is a really sweet orange, I myself don't smell the chili pepper, and butt naked is very strong! If anything on the VHazelnut, get a small one to try it, then you aren't stuck with it...
  12. I think you would be surprised the amount of people that order from me for the first time and it is a $200-300 order without ever trying beforehand, and they then become my repeat customers. I think it is all on how your business is found. I guess I just believe in the internet as that is what I attribute most of my business from.
  13. I think while looking at your pictures I died and went to candle room heaven! Very nice!!
  14. If one of our kids were put in that position, I would probably donate $30..lol and say-there is the profit he/she would have given you...but I wouldn't sell nor buy...probably bratty, but people in my area know I sell...and do fundraisers...so they should know better. lol
  15. I can understand your frustration. What gets me is knowing you are in their area why wouldn't they buy local? I did a fundraiser last fall for the National Junior Honor Society & The Wresting Pee Wee league-which I was very excited about. The thing that cracked me up was parents that I thought would purchase didn't. I think it is a good thing to buy local and support your own area. Then I thought maybe they didn't want me to profit...lol but that probably isn't the issue.
  16. I agree on the WVS, I call it Sweet Vanilla sugar and get my Warm Vanilla Sugar from Candles & Supplies I think it is.
  17. Hmmm I must have missed that in the past. I have also kept mine in the bottle they came in and never had an issue with leakage (as long as the top is screwed on good), and my scents are fine. With the amount I stock I would have to soak a lot of money into glass. But a good thing to hear about. Guess I am bad at reading the fine print.
  18. Very true...At least you are being mistaken by a "good name"..not that I am promoting them as I make my own lol...but better to be associated with a name in decent standing than say a crook...lol Guess it is all in how you look at it. I forgot to mention earlier when I started making candles the name of my business was: Brambleberry Candle Co....LOL and I had searched that name on the internet before getting the domain and everything, then when I merged with my sister before taking over-people kept saying oh you are that soap and scent place...I was like where did they come from...lol so I let the name go since I was now Country Keepsakes-which is a name but they sell quilts and they at the time had the full domain name but weren't using it and I didn't want to spend $3000 to get it. So I think you can make it work seeing as you had the name first.
  19. Gosh that is a tough one. If the fan pages are using your logo and talking about your candle I would post a note that you are not affiliated with Scentsy. I get them using the slogan "make scents" but when it is the name of your business that doesn't seem fair that you are being mistaken. But if they are promoting Scentsy with your logo and candle-then you need to make it known that is your company and not Scentsy. To change your name means a new start with promoting but it can be done... "New Name" formally Makes Scents but again it will be work. If you didn't incorporate as I know that costs money you are just going to have to decide which way you want to go. As far as the guy that started a year ago and is using the same look of your labels...it could be coincidence unless you are using a font that isn't a popular one. I personally probably wouldn't change my name especially since you have been around so long. But if you have a blog I would write about it and post a note on your fan page, and make it clear you are not affiliated with Scentsy.
  20. I started ordering from Millcreek when they had like 10 scents...lol. My favorite are: Banana Nut Bread Harvest Spice Vanilla Hazelnut Mocha Gardenia Pineapple Paradise Black Cherry (VERY STRONG) Blueberry Muffin Pomegranate & Citrus Sweet Pea & Me Kudzu Mulberry Wine Peanutbutter Crunch (this is one I just got and I think it is great). Those are actually just a few but regular scents I order and won't go somewhere else to get. I have never used their dye, I actually get mine from C&S or Candle Soylutions.
  21. lol..I do TOO many things. Over the last 9 years there were so many things I wanted to do and as time has went on I have been able to add here and there. My wholesale candles etc is my main business, the others just seem to fall around that area. I would like to build my supplies to a bigger business but for now I supply the newer candle makers or ones that are closer in proximity and might just need this or that to tide them over. The hosting I am building for when the time comes that I may not be able to pour candles as I was diagnosed with DDD (Degenerative Disc Disease) of my neck and lower back...but I am hoping when that time comes that I have employees...lol
  22. I love the scents I have gotten from CS and am glad to hear they are going to plastic, one it has to be cheaper to ship and to buy for them, (I could be wrong.) I get multiple size bottles (plastic) with the flip tops at http://www.sks-bottle.com you can get them with lids, without, and last I knew they had a sample bag that came with 1oz, 2oz etc. They also sell the caps separately-but they are in a large bulk amount.
  23. I ship internationally from http://www.farmviewcandlesupply.com I also post my FO temps so you would know which ones are over 200. And I can give you a quote for shipping before ordering if I know what you are wanting.
  24. I went to the page I ordered it from and this is the link http://wickscandlesupplies.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=WCS&Product_Code=aa-blank-sheets&Category_Code=aroma-art She sells by the sheet but gives discounts for the more you buy. Hope this helps. I had found 1 other place but they were more expensive. Becky
  25. My wholesale site is: http://www.cntrykeepsakeswholesale.com . If you have any questions you can always email me directly at cntrykeepsakeswholesale@gmail.com . Thanks
