  1. Hi, This is a great board I am learning so much from everyone ~ thank you. I am new to testing palm feather wax. I would like to make some 2 oz standard votives, I read someone had good luck with eco # 2. I have CD wicks not sure what size I should start for testing?? I also have a 3-wick 5" pillar mold & am not sure of a good starting place? Thank you so much for any advice, I really appreciate it. :smiley2:

Hi, just wanted to share my results so far 3 7/8" Apothecary jars ~ room temp Poured 2 at 155 ~ perfect no frost very creamy smooth Poured 1 at 165 ~ 1 very small fine crack between the 2 wicks 2 CD wicks in ea jar I have done 3 test burns so far the CD 10 & CD 12 CD 14 were way too big (Soot) They smell & look great so far, can’t wait to do 4th test burn & try more FO & see what my testers think.
  4. I have to agree with Flicker as I have had this happen to me. A good company will tell you where they get there wicks from. In the past I had ordered my wicks from which ever company I needed other things from at the time. I eventually started having a lot of problems. Ever since I have become aware of this I now buy all of my wicks from one supplier. I have not had any more inconsistent results.

  6. Hi, It helps to exfoliate skin 1st, there are many helpful oils ~ emu, olive, soy, glycerin ect you could do a search on internet. Once he exfoliates put the oil/lotion on his hands then you could warm some soy or paraffin wax & have him dip his hands in & out several times. Cover his hands in plastic bag then wrap with towel to keep heat in. Leave on for 15 - 30 min. Then just peal the wax off. His skin will also beneffit from the natural oils in the wax. Doing this will open up the pores in the skin. Be careful to not get the wax too hot but it should be as warm as possable. You may want to do the oil wax process daily for a couple weeks. In addition at bed time he can also put the oil/lotion on & put a pair of rubber gloves or socks over his hands. Sharon
