I found the best advertisement is word of mouth. Some other ideas are leaving business card or flyer tacked on your local supermarket bulletin board (if available) I have donated baskets for raffles. Most that I have gave away as gifts or samples has given me a lot of business. I had my mother in law take a scent list and order forms to work.......that gave me over 60 sales. Hope some of these ideas help. Of course everything would have your website on it also:p

I am not in a position where I sell a lot and need a bag for every customer. I bought a package of 13 kraft bags with handles for $3.86(about .30 per bag) I found them in the crafts section at walmart.

I did a search on the board for candle parties but couldnt find what I wanted to know. I have a friend who lives 3 hours away, she would like to host a candle party. She says she will have at least 10 - 15 people attend. I was wondering exactly how much I should bring? We have decided that if alot of guests order items I dont have with me that I can ship them to my friends house for her to deliver (save on shipping). Yet I want to be able to sell alot right there too. I have gone over this a hundred times on paper and it seems I want to take WAY too much! LOL What do you think? I only offer 4 different size container jars at the moment.....party isnt till march.......will have testing done on a new jar by then. So 5 diff size Jars and my tarts. Oh and I offer 45 scents maybe a couple more before march. Thanks in advance for any input or advice:bliss:

I have a customer requesting Strawberry Melon Scent. I have not seen this scent any where. Does anyone know where I might find it? Thank You!

Not too sure on the subject, but isnt Avon and Home & Garden a little similar to selling like we do. I understand that the product doesnt come direct from thier home, but shouldnt they have a license to sell? Or I suppose that is covered by the company itself? Im not reffering to taxes and such. Just the zoning laws and permits. I just dont understand why I go through the hassle of getting a permit when they dont need to. I am sure people selling Avon are making alot more money than I am right now;)

I was all about doing the right thing. Offering their money back or exchanging the candles, until they wanted to order the same scent in a larger size. That is what completely threw me. I asked why they wanted to order that same scent if they were unhappy with it, still waiting on a reply. Maybe they are trying to think up a good reason or they have realized I am not completely stupid! I never thought to ask for the candle back.....I wonder how much of it has been burned. I will be asking for it back in exchange for a new candle of the same size. I think I will go ahead and let them order the Love Spell in the larger size, with the understanding that there will be no refund/exchange if they are not pleased. I wouldnt go to a bakery and buy a cookie, tell them I dont like the cookie then order a dozen more! I want to be professional about this but I dont think my product is the problem.

I am so upset! I had 2 people who I dont know (friends of friends) buy a few of my candles. The only candle they both got the same was my love spell. I have sold or given away alot of these. Well they both claim that there is no scent throw at all when the candle is lit. I didnt have this problem while testing and neither does the other 4 people who bought the same candles! I offered their money back.......NO they want different candles to replace the love spell ones. Which I almost considered until.......they went on to order a larger size candle, guess what scent!!!! Love Spell! Now this makes no sense to me at all! I guess if people are willing to lie to get free candles then I must have a decent candle and need not worry! Still they are making me look bad to potential customers. Sorry I just wanted to vent a little and see if anyone else has had this happen to them.

What is the scent you just hate to pour? Yet the customers keep requesting! Mine would have to be fudge brownie and lilac. Fudge brownie smells like tootsie rolls to me and I dont like them lol. The lilac burns my eyes when I pour it.

I currently use my kitchen which i find very inconvinent, ok i dont but my dh and children do! I am currently looking to buy my brothers house and it has a wonderful attached garage that will be easily converted into a very nice workshop with heat and central air! IF we can get a decent loan offer!:rolleyes2

Candle Science is expanding thier scents and they have great prices. I know some of the board members have recommended their FO.

While we are helping the clueless one (me) lol I was wondering if I could use this mold to pour wax into? I tried Peaks Georgia Peach and didnt get a very good hot throw..........all of their other scents have been excellent for me though. Maybe I should give Peaks another chance. I have a lot of requests for Peach.

Thank you I will try and see if I can get it to work.......or maybe just use it as an accent peice.....it is such a pretty mold. OH and I knew I was crazy! Nice to know Im not the only one with that opinion:p

see what confuses me about this mold is that i think it is upside down......i may be wrong.........and if i insert a wick pin then the top of the rose design will be messed up. maybe i should just order it and and look at it better?

I am wondering how the wick goes in. I havent ordered the mold yet because Im afraid I will never know what Im doin:p Any help or advise or just want to tell me I am crazy? Thanks!
