    Thanks for the reminder, I was just thinking it's time for a random soap check too, because of the temp and humidity change. That's a lot of burping and shaking.

    The person that contacted me did it through the business website off of the contact form. So they already knew that it was legitimate. They didn't contact me through an e-mail account.

    Depends on what you sell. I have insurance through the Handcrafted Soap Maker's Guild. It does cover candles, but only if you do soap, too.

    I store mine in a closet with wire shelving. I was using clear plastic drawer organizers (3 long rectangles) from Target, until they changed them and they don't work quite as well now. I have baskets from Target and Walmart, too. I divide them up by category, florals, fruits, masculine, vanillas, ambers and Patchoulis, clean, food and essential oil and one for essential oil blends. I have 1/2 of index cards in front of each basket or organizer telling me which catagory it is. They take up a whole 6 ft shelf all on their own.

    I make CP soap, bath salts, lotions and such. I do make candles, but just for me and family. Those are way to complex, but I do like to have some in the house in case of power outages or smelly house syndrome.

    I bought it in Oct of 2009 when I first started doing CP, you do have to get the lye seperately (I ordered it from them, too) and olive oil locally. I like it because they even had a recipe that they gave you to start with.

    Yep, the waiting is the worst part. I know I've never had a whole lot of patience, but soaping will help you with that. Good luck, you're first batch looks way better than mine did!

    I used it for a milk soap and it heated up pretty quickly. It bowed out a little, but was okay after taking the soap out (was easy to take out of the mold). It probably would be better to not do gelled soaps in it. I don't know if the lid would help the mold not bow, the channel in the top doesn't seem deep enough to hold it in place. I'll try again, if it does it again, DH said he'd make me something to keep the mold from bowing. He seems to think the acrylic they use isn't thick enough too not bow with the heat from gelling.

    I just got an e-mail with a refund, too. I just contacted my discover card 2 days ago. I'll make sure it shows up on the card before I call and tell them to discontinue the charge back.

    I did a mardi Gras soap in 2010, I used a Cinnabon type (#300) scent (WSP) and it was okay, but kind of faded. I used yellow and green oxide and ultramarine purple for the colors. It came out okay, but most people just used it for pretty soap in the guest bath. The last couple of years I haven't made any specifically for Mardi gras, I do soap for Christmas gifts and then valentine's is 6 weeks behind new years. Good luck.

    Hi Steve, welcome to New Orleans, but probably almost everyone around you is wanting LSU to win! Good thing I don't watch football! I got my loaf mold this afternoon and already have a batch of soap in it. I got the 5 lb. Ordered it monday and it was shipped tuesday. I'll unmold tomorrow, even though I'm dying to go look at it and try to unmold it. Find yourself some good poboys, fried oysters or fried shrimp is great. Enjoy!

    I just ordered a 5 lb mold from them yesterday. I already have a homemade wooden 5 lb mold and love the size. I thought I would try these out and see how it goes. It's nice to know that people like their products, I hadn't heard about them before the other day. Now I have to wait patiently for it to come (they were on holiday break and probably have a backlog of orders).

    I just finished making my Masterbatch of Whipped Body Frosting. It's cooled and sitting in a bucket. I'll try out adding fragrance oils later today.

    Thanks for the quick reply. I have family that die for this recipe, but have a hard time making 1/2 batch and then doing all the different scents for everyone. Making one whole batch and then fragrancing, as needed, would be alot easier. Thanks for all the help and the great recipe.

    Can you make a batch of this to use as a master batch and then later take out the amount you need to add fragrance and/or color later? Would it work the same was as a premade lotion (base) where you heat it a little and it will take the fragrance and still stay whipped up? Or will it deflate? I usually make a half batch and weigh out some for each individual fragrance I make (everyone in the family wants a different fragrance) then package in jars. But I've only done this right after making it, so it sets up nice and whipped. TIA.

    No, that's alright, my Mom always said I should practice patience. I'll be good, I probably won't need them until spring when we start to sweat like pigs while cutting grass and stuff in Louisiana. Winter is usually when my skin in the opposite and needs moisture. Thanks for the offer, I really appreciate it.

    Barb, Here's the salt bar recipe with Dead Sea Mud and Charcoal. They came out pretty good, just have to let them cure up for awhile now. I added some Bulgarian Lavender and a twitch of tea tree like you said and then smell okay. Turned light grey when they cooled off.

    Those are pretty huge, I bought a 3 oz semi round online. I started using them in June and still have over half of it to go yet. Those would last me a year! They look great, though.
