  1. I think it looks great! When the bars are kinda rounded like that on the sides, I use a potato peeler to clean them up. Nice job!!
  2. I got mine from WSP. I think it's dead-on. Mixed some in a body butter base and my friends loved it.
  3. I've been reading up on making body sprays, and I've seen them dip the end of a toothpick into the dye (liquid) and mix it into the alcohol base. That small amount shouldn't color anything excessively and you'll probably end up with a pastel color that way.
  4. I like how white the uncolored, unscented one is! Must try that recipe!! Very nice soaps!
  5. Wow! Gorgeous! I absolutely LOVE HP. I can make CP and make it look nice, but I really enjoy the look of HP. Plus, NO ASH! Beautiful soaps!!!!!
  6. Those are really pretty soaps! Love your swirlies! I bet it smells awesome too. I think that coconut is the world's best smell. I'd probably just hold a bar all day so I could smell it!
  7. Those are really great! My first batch didn't look nearly that nice. I've gotten the hang of it now though...a lot of it is trying things different ways from different people on the boards to find what works best for you! Great job!
  8. Whew...it's fine now. I did the zap test and no zap last night. It actually turned into soap now! The chemical reaction of soapmaking and how fast things can change from day to day still amaze me! Once it firms up a bit more, I'll trim up a piece or two to show the inside swirls.
  9. Thanks for all the nice comments! I used the POP micas, red lake 40 and copper penny mica. The POP micas were tangerine and black. The colors did fade a bit, and it's still soft and lye heavy. I'm afraid that it didn't gel and I don't know if I'll need to rebatch the whole mess or not. I'll leave it for a few weeks and then see about it.
  10. I got ASH!!! And it's still kinda soft, so we'll have to see in a couple of weeks if it's worth saving or not... It was a good swirling experience tho!
  11. Wow! The colors held up so well! Very nice soapies:yay:
  12. Such beautiful colors! Even though they changed dramatically, they are still absolutely gorgeous!
  13. I made this with a blend of Energy and Yuzu from BB. I did an in-the-pot swirl of 4 colors. YIKES! I did this at such a light trace that I'm praying that the whole mess doesn't separate because it's so pretty right now. IF it turns out, I'll post cut pics in a couple of days.
  14. A friend of mine asked me to make an insect repellant soap. I purchased the Bug-B-Gone EO blend from BB. Any idea how much of this stuff to use per pound of oils. I don't have much luck using EO's as it seems like the scent fades away during the cure, and this needs to stay strong. Please advise??!!
  15. I love your melt and pours! So pretty! The blue and yellow one is awesome looking! Great job!
  16. How do you sign up for the soap swap? Is it invitation only?
  17. Ugh...I ordered a TOG mold on 3-5. Crap, hope mine doesn't leak.
  18. For your CP batch, leave for at least 24 hrs. I've had it stay warm a long time. I wouldn't cut it warm.
  19. I kid you not folks--I actually SAW a Shea Soap Vagina FOR SALE ON EBAY last week. I was browsing for shea butter, typed in "shea butter" (as one would do) and it was the first listing! EWWWWWWWWWW! It was apparently molded from someone's privates and had a "realistic human feel". I almost spewed on the computer screen. :lipsrseal It either sold or the listing is gone because I can't find it anymore. As far as the poop soap...everyone has to make a living somehow. I just personally couldn't use it for the same reason I couldn't eat the green or purple ketchup when it came out. Same ingredients--just doesn't look right somehow... lol
  20. Ok, some sage advice...DO NOT make salt bars at night! Lol...I was watching TV waiting for my bars to firm up enough so I could cut them and fell asleep! So, this morning, I "cut" my soap and it's in triangles, chunks, you name it...ah well... live and learn. I think next time I'll use individual molds--it seems like the best bet. They are pretty colors and smell really nice. We'll see what they are like in a couple of months.
  21. Would using the low-sweat/no-sweat m&p bases be better for salt bars does anyone think?
  22. I can't wait to try this! The first "whipped" body butter stuff I ever made set up hard as a rock. Bit of a disappointment, really. I'm stoked to try this one out!!
