  1. I agree with a previous post. Pour at 145. It should take care of that problem. We have used 464 for years and the higher pour temperature reduced our problem but on occassion it will show its ugly face. Also remember your making a hand crafted candle. Those imperfections have never prevent us from selling 1 candle. It gives them personality. That single piece of advice I rec'd many moons ago on this very forum and has changed the way I handle my business more than anything I was ever told on here! Happy Candlemaking!
  2. I personally think its the peppermint fo. Anytime we make a candle with any amount of peppermint it leeches out the top. Just our experience.
  3. Square has the nicest register app for the ipad. Handles inventory and all. But when we purchased it will only print through airprint over wifi. But there is something out there because our last show another vendor did the whole square credit card transaction on their android phone and then sat it in a cradle or docking station and it printed a receipt. Which as i typed that realized it probably goes thru bluetooth in that situation.
  4. CandleScience will always only charge actual shipping... they told us they dont try to make money off of shipping. Very well stated NaturallyTru... great business practices keep customers coming back
  5. Can someone tell me a nice "spiced wassail" (I call it Russian Tea) recipe. I am totally out of the oil and need a recipe ASAP. Thanks, Kelly:confused:
  6. I am looking for the Candlewarmers Snowman warmers. I bought both types (Big full size & the night light) when they first came out and I just sold out of them. And guess what - Candlewarmers won't have them back in until NEXT YEAR! If anyone has any they would be willing to sell me I would appreciate it. I can Paypal today if you can share! TIA! Kelly
  7. Did I miss something or did these fragrances just disappear from CS offering without any notice? I went to reorder and BLAM A DAMA DING DONG there gone! Faster than David Blane could swipe a watch off an innocent bystander on the street! Help! I need some of both of these oils. Anybody have a suggestion from another supplier! TIA...
  8. Does anybody near North Carolina have a pound or at least 8 ounces of CandleScience Fresh Coffee I can buy from you. The problem is I need it to ship out Priority Mail on Saturday if there is anyone willing to do this and preferrably be in NC or surrounding state that I would get it on Monday. I hate to drive to Durham for a pound of oil BUT I will if I have too! :laugh2:I can pay by Paypal tonight! TIA, Kelly
  9. Brenda, That could be it - we've been making soy for 5 years now and we still learn stuff everyday! :-)
  10. OMG! We sell T&B from CS really well. Are you using in Soy or Par?
  11. Great info NJ! What your doing is right and Stella is on the money - it takes time - and patience - but I wouldn't switch either. Also - for what it's worth - i've tried wicking that jar for going on 4 months now to NO avail - but it was supposed to be our new jar since we have done everything in the 8oz jelly jar but it will hit sooner or later. Just keep testing! It's the only way to know what works for you... What kind of thermometer are you using? As bizarre as this sounds you could be getting not accurate / consistent readings...
  12. We've used 464 for 3 years and in the beginning we had some of the same issues - still have some issues with certain fo's but we've worked through most of them. Give us some details on your procedure. How hot are you getting the wax? When are you adding FO? When are you adding color? What temp are you pouring? Are you preheating your glass? What wicks are you using?
  13. Have any of you ever used coconut oil or grapeseed oil as a carrier for your fragrance oils? I read that somewhere on here a long time ago but have never looked for it and was wondering if it was cheaper / more accessible than DPG?
  14. Wow! Very interesting thread... We have to be CS biggest cheerleaders - but - we prefer their FO over anyone elses - Very Vanilla is our all time best seller - we can't find another supplier that's even close - we use 464 in containers. Love Spell, Frank & Myrrh, Cran Marmalade all do well for us year round. Mistletoe & Christmas Hearth we're sell outs at every show we did last year around Christmas. Actually had reorders of Christmas Hearth just last week. Kiwi, Honeysuckle & Jasmine, Green Tea & Lemongrass, & Apple Harvest also do well for us. That's our 2 cents worth...
  15. Thanks you all are the greatest! It's woodland! Geez I'm such a scatter brain sometimes...
  16. Ok Peeps! I have driven myself crazy - trying to find the thread with the vendors name on it that has the folding wooden displays. The ones that are like 3 panels hinged together and you put shelves in between the slats to make the shelves. It's killing me. Just like the ones on woodfactory.com but it's another company that I found on HERE! It's making me crazy - please someone to my rescue.... Kelly
  17. :yay:Now that's customer service! And why you are able to grow as a company. Nicely done CS!
  18. We also use Ecosoya Pillar Blend 100% - we use votive cups from CS & CMS - we use wick pins from CS - the wick pins from CMS SUCKOLA! They are nails punch into some tin crap. But I interchange their votive molds with CS wick pins with no problem. We don't use mold release either. We do take a hammer to tap the wick pins when we demold. HTH. BUT I have never heard of the dixie cup revolution so I'm out tomorrow to buy those bad boys UP!
  19. We sell them as well. Plus we sell the ceramic rings that you can put on your light bulb to warm them. We sell the 0.5 boston rounds for $4.99 and the rings for $3.99. They do great for us at shows. Also - if you have the opportunity to display some cool warmers I think your crazy not to go there. It's the easiest money you'll ever make. Other than the bottles you'll always have more oil for restocking... just my thoughts... Kelly
  20. We have been using 100% pb and 6% frag load - all from candlescience as well without any trouble. Plus using the lx 14 wicks. BUT - we do let ours set for 2 days to weeks depending on what's going on - and believe it or not curing time has been noticable for us. PLUS - NEVER EVER EVER EVER FORGET THAT YOU MAY HAVE CANDLE NOSE! It gets us all sometimes! Also - when checking fragrance throw on a burning candle are you putting in a small enclosed area? We use our bathroom and close the door. So many times - especially with a small 1.5 - 2" diameter melt pool your not going to get an over whelming aroma in a large space unless it's a very loud fragrance - like Twigs & Berries from CS - or their Mistletoe or Very Vanilla will run you away from it. Your on track - let a few sit for a couple days and try them. Just out of curiosity - what fragrances are you using? hth - Kelly
  21. Sorry for this delayed response but Yes our 100% eco pillar blend soy tarts will not melt on subsequent warmings in the "low wattage" scentsy pots. But melt fine in the candlewarmers larger wattage bulb warmers and any of the jkl plate warmers. We have made tarts with pure 464 in them and they melt every time in the scentsy pot without a problem.
  22. Everybody who's ever smelled it from us says it is exact. It sells well for us - in soy -464 great hot & cold and in tarts...
  23. It's outrageous east of the Miss! We ordered $168 and shipping was $52!!!! I didn't know about the cap either so I am waiting until another co-op or gonna do one myself! But before I order I'll definitely see if there is a cap. IMO shipping is so bad from them cause they ship everything in their master cartons from China. So I ordered 6 different SKU's from them and it was 6 seperate boxes. If they would have put them into 2 boxes it would have been 1/2 of that! I did the UPS thing and checked based on the weights. But anywho - they have awesome stuff at good prices so you take the good with the bad.... Kelly
  24. We've had very similar results with 100% pb in a Scentsy pot. I am testing 6 other frags right now but I have never had this problem with Candlewarmers pots or any of the plate warmers. So it's definitely a NOT ENOUGH heat on re-heating issue. I am so glad you posted this cause I was freaking out with the results of mine. We just got a Scentsy pot for testing purposes to make sure internally that they work. We have lots of customers who have Scentsy pots and say they work but we wanted to make sure and it's definitely not hot enough. So we are revising our marketing to say the least... Keep us posted on your results and I'll do the same... Kelly
