  1. does anyone have any recommendations for beginner candle making books? i have never made candles before but would like to learn. thanks!
  2. im sure they'll be fine! salt bars are tricky though cause if you cut them too soon before they are crumbly and too late and you can't cut them with a chainsaw, haha.
  3. congratulations! it is so fun isn't it?
  4. yea it is a great way to salvage batches!
  5. salt bars are THE BEST at clearing up acne. i would recommend almost 100% coconut oil with mint and tea tree essential oils.
  6. also I also line them with wax paper, maybe its old fashioned but I think its the best
  7. I like log wood molds, they last forever and are easy to use and you can even get cutters that fit the size of the mold exactly.
  8. beeswax or carnauba wax though the carnauba makes for a VERY hard product...
  9. I've infused them in oil and I agree that you should save the oil for other uses besides soap because the scent is very fragile and gets destroyed by the high temp of cp soap making. the best way to infuse the oil is to cut down the middle of each seed pod, pop them in the oil and infuse in the sun for 4 weeks or so. If you want to speed up the process you can put them in the oil that you have on the stove on a very low setting so the oil is just a bit warm and that will kick start the process. Hope this helps!
