  1. I like to use http://myownlabels.com/ . They have some cute labels under the food/craft section.:cheesy2:
  2. I'm gonna download some pics tonight. I ve been meaning to take some pics, but just haven't yet. Pics ASAP
  3. I was also gonna add that on the C3 wax CDN 12 may need to be upped to CDN 14. The scent(CS Pumpkin Souffle) is amazing:shocked2: Im just not getting a full melt pool yet....Im still testing though, so it may catch up, but Im thinking probably 14. As for the 464, the 12s have been great, and even 10 for the lighter FOs. C3 GB 464 8 oz square mason 8 oz square mason 1.25-1.5 oz FO pp 1.25-1.5 oz FO pp 1 TBS Coconut Oil pp 1 TBS CO pp CDN 12(probably go to 14) CDN 12 or 10 Only let cure 24 hours and amazing scent throw H&C so far. Next is either the fun or frustrating part....SCENTS!!!
  4. Lonestar's Dickens Christmas is a must! I love their Mistletoe also, but I just got CS Mistletoe the other day and we may have some competition!!!!
  5. It IS nice when something does go right after soooo much testing. I did a cdn 10 in an 8 oz square mason with 464 and forgot to blow it out before bed...woke up...still had a beautiful melt pool, little to no mushrooming and it was already at the last 1/3 of the candle when I lit it. The jar wasnt too hot the next day, still had solid wax below 1/2 inch melt pool...IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! Just waiting for SOMETHING to go wrong. The "perfection" can't last long.:rolleyes2 If it did, we'd all be bored:shocked2:
  6. I hope they work 4 u! I get mine at JBN too, I've heard Mex Vanilla is awesome. I lit the C3 candles yesterday-great scent throw! CDNs had some mushrooming, wicks did better in 464, but with trimming, they were AWESOME! Only cured for 24 hours and they smelt soooo yummmmy!
  7. Lonestar Candle Supply has Balsam&Cedar Yankee dup. I love their scents! They are usually dead on...You may wanna give them a try. HTH :smiley2:
  8. Oh and Naomi....I KNOW! I have like every possible wick known to soy! It was the only one I hadn't tried too (except RRD and that was gonna be MY LAST) but i'm glad I did.:smiley2:
  9. I tried Apple Cinnamon from Lonestar(not an excellent throw in soy, but good) and mulled cider and Blueberry Cobbler from Lonestar. The best so far is the JBN Creme Brule and and LS Blueberry Cobbler. The Creme scented my entire house almost instantly! I just ordered CS pumpkin souffle, Hansel and Gretel, Mistletoe, Very Vanilla, and Blueberry Cobbler. Cannot wait to try those. Cold and hot throw both amazing with the stronger scents. With the ECOs and HTP I feel like I could always smell the wick(If that makes sense) especially after it was blown out and cooled. It just feels good to find something that works for you. Its just ashame that its never all at THE SAME SUPPLIER :rolleyes2
  10. With 464 wax 8 oz container I use cdn 12 or 10. I would do one of each of those sizes if I were you. I love the CDNs sooo much more than any other wick- even the CDs...Hope you do too!
  11. I LOVE the CDN wick series! I thought ECOs were gonna be my wick of choice, then I tried CDN. They burn sooo clean in soy! My PERFECT combo: 8oz square mason CDN 12 (10 works well too) 1.25-1.5 oz pp FO GB 464 1 tbs pp coconut oil and....... VOILA! Awesome candle! Gonna test same combo with C3 wax today and see how well that does. Boy, It sure helps to go to 8 oz candles from 16 oz...ALOT! SOOOO much easier to make and test...with SAME scent throw! and a big thanks to JBN Creme Brulee.....Couldnt have done it without YOU. End of speach:yay:
  12. SAME EXACT THING just happened to me! My problem was with one of them not staying lit in a double wicked candle....In like 3 candles. So Weird! I cant remember if they were my HTP or ECOs Ill have to go check my notes, but no drowning just goes out. Maybe one was taking O2 from the other.
  13. FYI- I once read that when going with a spa themed bathroom its nice to find a scent that you like and rub it on your light bulbs, so when they are turned on and heat up......you get that spa feel/smell without always lighting a candle! ;) Dunno how well it works, but worth a try....BTW...I LOVE Lonestar Candle's Lemongrass Sage!
  14. I'm NOT a vanilla person at all- but I do like Lonestar Candle's Sugar Cookie. It has that yummy vanilla smell, without being JUST vanilla. :smiley2:
  15. Thanks! Im actually gonna order some CDNs on Monday and test them out.
  16. Im thinking about blending a 50/50 GB 454 and j223....just curious to see if anyone has done a 50/50 on those two waxes. If so, how was the scent throw? I just did a 75/25 454/j223 and so far hot scent throw is pretty dang good.
  17. Thanks so much for the replies...I actually may try the CDs...I have some. I just have too much shrooming, or soot or drowning with HTPs. They just drive me nuts to work with. Even in soy they drive me crazy, I definately prefer the ECOs in soy. Thanks everyone, I have some LXs and CDs ....I'll try em tonight.
  18. Okay..so Im curious....2 months later....How'd your soy test do? I'm testing c3 and 464 and wondering how yours went? Did you ever try coconut oil?
  19. Just curious...... I use 16 oz apothecary with GB464 and double wick with an ECO6, sometimes single wick with ECO14...They work well for me, long burn, good scent throw (which I have noticed with this wax it HAS to be a STRONG scent to begin with.) On some candles I can smell the wick itself....carbon I guess. So Im wondering what wicks yall use on your 464. Do ya like any better than the ECO?....... CDs? LXs?
  20. Hi everyone! Okay, so Ive used J223 for about 6 years and always used HTP (which I have a love/hate relationship with.) Ive read that zinc wicks work really well with this wax. My question......I know nothing about zinc and its sizes. Can anyone suggest a starting off point in size for a 16oz apothecary jar. Im assuming I'll have to double wick. Any suggestions on ANY good wicks for this wax. Ive since moved to soy and love it, but would like to perfect my paraffin too.....Thanks to all who reply! I am currently using ECOs on my soy candles.....Do those burn well with J223?
  21. Hi, I use GB 464 in 16 oz Apothecary jars (sorry, I knw you're using tins) I wick with 2 ECO-6 or 1 ECO-14 and those work very well for me, so I'd think ECO-14 would be a bit big in an 8 oz tin. Ive used tins before and they also tend to get hotter, so they helped in heating the wax a little during burn. Hope this helps a little!
