  1. I have just started making candles and the ones that I mess up I have been decorating with various techniques that I love. Most of the decorative things that I am doing are coming with recommendations that they should not be burned. I was not thrilled as I woud like to make more decorative candles that can be burned. Then I went to a home store the other day and say a whole aisle of candles that are for sale that are using some of the same decorative ideas that I have and can be burned. I am so confused. I would like to make tons of Christmas candles in the next few weeks to sell and have been trying to find materials to use that you can burn the candle. The candles that I am seeing are encrusted with beads, sequin and other items that I have in my craft department (the small corner in my loft lol). Most have a thin layer of glossy color which include silver, gold and red and then the beads, sequin and other materials overlay them. Known of these materials are not in the wax but on the outsides like they have been applied after the candles are already made. Are these companies using specialized materials for candles, non flammable materials or are they just using cheap candles that tunnel down the middle with the notion that the candle will never melt the wax around the edges. The candles that I am making have been frequently tunnelling and I am working on that with the help of all you ladies. I hope that I am explaining myself clearly as I have just worked a 12 hour shift and have started to work on my business like most nights. I am at a loss right now because I know that I can make these candles but I dont want anyone to burn their house down either. Any ideas would be helpful.
