  1. CandyBee What color of wax were the pine cones dipped in? I have a over abundance of pine cones in my neighbors yard who is more than happy for me to pick them up and use them for whatever. So far I have some soaking in a large pickle jar scented with Pine Tree fo but like the idea of glitter. Thanks. Anna
  2. Thanks Jennifer I didn't figure it would be a good candidate for container candles... I've seen some sold in jars but would just about bet it's more soy wax than beeswax in a blend of some sort. I was thinking about making taper candles but do have the molds for making pilars as well. I am not really too interested in buying commercially made beeswax right now, just straight from the farm. 3. That sure does sound nice and creative. You can also use spoiled Goat Milk Soap. A friend forgot and left all her goat milk outside for a couple days equals out to Buttermilk, LOL! Anna
  4. Who is BNL? I see several of you use Bay Rum... has anyone tried Oregon Trails versus BNL? Oregon Trails is off the hook but would love to have someone closer to Ohio or better shipping rates. Thanks. Anna
  5. Very interesting topic and I just sat here nodding my head to all that I have learned that you have already covered. I hate paperwork I love the creativity of making my candles and the always new challenges of trying something a little bit different... who knew someone would love Blue, Orange and Blue colored candles? LOL! I took our small part time business and went full time with it 2 years ago and have never regretted it. It's so much less stressful (well most of the time till fall/winter) than having a boss hanging over your shoulder. I love being here and having dinner ready when my husband gets home from work instead of us both dragging in at the same time and being too tired to cook a healthy meal. I love taking breaks on my front porch swing and smelling my roses alongside the porch instead of sitting in a dark building with no windows on my breaks or sitting at my desk with big bay windows and longing to be out there in the sunshine instead of chained to a desk. I've learned to always have a back up for your back up suppliers so that you aren't left high and dry if someone is out of something you need ASAP. I've also learned to keep stocked up on things you know you'll need like waxes and wicks. Anna
  6. I'm for sure late but have a friend whose online name is CountryLily. Anna
  7. Hi Folks I have recently been offerred some free beeswax from a farmer but didn't know what to do with it. This discussion has really helped alot however, once you have cleaned the wax how do you get it poured into a sheet of wax that you can make candles with? I would assume that you would have to have some kind of lining so that the wax doesn't stick to the form you are using to make sheets of wax? And I saw someone mentioned they mixed paraffin and beeswax together... isn't beeswax hard enough by itself not to need the paraffin? Thanks for any advice. I currently make soy container candles as well as CP soaps. Anna
  8. Hi Folks I'm new to this forum but by no means new to the soap and candle business. I have used Just Scents for years, Becky is off the top in customer service and her scents... I've never had one that wasn't good. Love her Chanel 5, Vanilla Bean Noel and Birthday Cake and my sister in Ga. drives me nuts to make her Coco Cabana candles for her.
