  1. What kind of "veggie(s)" is if from? I'd like to try something other than palm wax, but only if I know what it is...
  2. So, Im trying hard to make the most Eco-friendly candle possible for my company to sell... So far I've got a pretty good one... Glass jar, no plastic packaging, responsibly farmed palm wax and natural ingredients... My biggest problem is that I'd really like to stop using virgin glass. But it's been extremely hard for me to find any acceptable recycled glass containers for my candles... After many hours of searching, I did find a couple of less desireable designs at "wholesale" bit they were almost 500% more expensive than my regular jars... And I didn't REALLY even like them that much! Has anyone ever seen good affordable recycled glass jars?
  3. Hi there... I do glass glow palm wax exlusively and it has it's goods and bads... I love love LOVE the crystalized design it makes against the glass... And it seems they take a little longer to burn cuz the wax is so hard. It is highly prone to air pockets though and cools very fast and different than other wax. My biggest disappointment though, and IM trying to find a solution for this, is they tunnel down really excessively. Due to the density of the cool wax, you really have to burn them at lest 2 to 3 hours each burning to get the wax melted out to the edges of a standard width apoth jar. If you only burn an hour or so at a time it just bores a hole down the center and wastes a good thick wall of wax. If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them. I thought about blending withsoy but haven't tried yet and suspect that will ruin the beautiful crystalization...
  4. Hi there! I've been working exclusively with glass glow since I started and Have sort of a similar variation on Stellas method. I use chopsticks and have lots of fun stabbing my candles to death while they cool... I've found this makes less of a mess, although you still have to be careful because the first vent hole becomes a little mini erupting volcano during subsequent afressive stabs. I've Actually got some wax on my ceiling from it shooting up lol...I get carried away easily. Anyway, I always save a little of the wax from the same batch while the candles are cooling, and then just reheat it in the pitcher. Here's a tip I also learned: any extra wax you can't use soon can be poured into silicone muffin baking pans. When it's cooled, you have a perfectly pre mixed "puck" of that scent that will easily pop out of the mold and quickly melt down...
  5. This packaging looks great! Good job! So appetizing... Keep it away from the kids! lol
  6. Okay...I'm going to assume for now, that the answer is yes, but I want to make sure before I start pouring a bunch of candles... When I measure out the solid wax before I melt it, will the weight be the same in it's liquid melted form? Again, I know it sounds like a silly question, but I just want to make sure because all of the container companies specify pour weights, and I know that 1lb of solid wax = 16 oz. I just want to make sure it remains 16 oz when it's liquid, so my jar measurements don't get screwed up. Btw, I'm using Glass Glow palm wax if that matters. Thanks! Troy
