  1. Hi Experts, I'm trying to make some kind of molded salt scrub for my feet and I've never made soap. I have epsom salts, grapeseed oil, soy wax, apricot kernel oil and shea butter. I mushed these all together and have a lovely mess that crumbles. Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much. Nina
  2. I have 3 x 6, 3 x 3, 3 x 9, 2 part plastic milky way elipse mold, square votives, 2 x 6 or 9, let me know if you are interested and i'll p ul them out and measure all of them. ninabogard@sbcglobal.net
  3. Check out Dawn's shop at Frenchhillcountry.com She's super nice and makes her own molds. Just tell her what you need and she may be able to duplicate it. hth
  4. Thank you Rae and Scented. I appreciate your help. Its actual oil that comes off on the paper towels. So you're right, I'm probably using too much oil. When they turn out the right way, I'm so thrilled, which doesn't seem to be that often but I'm still trying. Here's a few pics of what has worked. Thanks again ladies. Merry Christmas, Nina
  5. I've tried drying my bombs on foil, a rack, paper, paper towels, etc. and it seems that when I put them on any kind of paper the oils just absorb into the paper. What is the correct way to dry them? Thanks for your help. Nina ninabogard@sbcglobal.net
  6. Thanks so much ladies. I found MMS. The oils are priced fine $3 and $4 but the shipping is $9.18. Crazy shipping costs.
  7. Hi Ladies & Gents, I'm making lip balms now and haven't been really happy with the flavor oils I've tried from bittercreek and a candy company. I'm looking for something that is already sweetened and has a great taste. Any flavors are fine, I just need suppliers names please. Thanks so much for your help. Nina ninabogard@sbcglobal.net
  8. Sara, I'm having a terrible time with mine. I've made 3 batches so far and can't sell one of them. Any suggestions for a recipe for the bombs? Thank you. Nina ninabogard@sbcglobal.net
  9. I know this post is old.... here is my 2 cents.......... They owe me over $200. They blocked my email and will not return my phone calls. They blocked me on their Twitter account. They refuse to pay me. Needless to say, they are no longer on my supplier list. I have nothing good to say about them so I won't say anything. That is all.
  10. Powder is my choice - goes a very long way ! Good luck in your candle making!
  11. After a lot of research I went back to bittercreek. Still is the cheapest. Love your tarts Trapp !!

  15. I was just at a salon that had one. It had soy wax, coconut oil and I don't know what else. It was creamy - no big whoop though.
  16. I use a #2 cotton wick for pillars and 34-40 paper for votives and tealights. HTH
  17. Does anyone have any of the white peach hibiscus left they want to get rid of? I'm in desperate need of it. Thanks. Nina ninabogard@sbcglobal.net
  18. Hi, I purchased white peach & hibiscus from a girlfriend and when I went to candlesandsupplies, they have discontinued it. Does anyone know where I can get this fo ? Thank you for any help. Nina
  19. I mix palm and soy all the time. I like it because I can use less fragrance oil in this blend. If I want a smooth look - more soy. A patterned look - more palm. I don't really measure - just eye ball it. Oh well, I've never been one to follow a recipe ! This one is more palm. It's when I first started so don't laugh too hard !
  20. Hi, can the administrator please activate my account so I can look at the different threads? Thank you.
  21. Thanks for the helpful ideas ladies (gentlemen). Online sales are horrible right now. Actually, I've been thinking of going to local beauty salons, spas, etc. but have been kind of afraid to do it. I don't have any pretty jars that others use for candles and I basically make pillars, votives, tealights, tarts. My self confidence is a little weak right now . I'm just a tad stressed out trying to make $$ to support myself and my husband. I can't wait until I look back and remember these thin times and say it was all worth it. The fundraisers and selling to office people sound good, but then I have to make labels, flyers, etc. - which I don't know how to do. I'm am dead broke right now - $1.97 in paypal so I can't afford to buy jars, labels, etc. Ugh, listen to me complain - sorry ! All will be better soon - this too shall pass ! Thank you for your help. I'm taking pictures of some candles that I made and going to list them on etsy. I've pulled off of ebay because their fees were killing me.
  22. I'm glad that some of you are having better luck than me. My sales have gone down to pretty much zero. Hubby lost job, no money, it's crazy. But things will get better soon. I need new places to sell online - any suggestions? Thanks and the best of luck to all.
