  1. Thanks! I dropped a CD10 into the jar and so far it seems to be working but I did have to blow out the candle once to trim the wick cause it was starting to smoke. Do you find that you have to trim mid burn with that wick/jar combo?
  2. Hi guys and gals of candle world! I did a search on this but didn't find the answer I was looking for. I am using a new jar - the 3inch Status with J223. I have tried several wicks in this wax but can't seem to get a full MP. The zincs seem to work the best so far but I would like to try a non-zinc wick for this container. I am adding FO @ 8% as I do with my 7.5 oz jar and seem to have no problems with jars under 3 inches in diameter. I am thinking of adding a lower MP soy wax to the J223 to get a softer blend. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA everyone!!
  3. It is a fabulous addiction! Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!
  4. I don't want to ruffle any feathers but it's all in the marketing/packaging first. After that it's the product. I know a lot of people who keep trying to tell themselves that if they have a good product that they don't need to spend the extra on the lid, box, label, embellishments, etc... BS! People buy into a "feeling". It's marketing and good marketing sells candles or whatever else you are trying to sell to your target market. The kicker is knowing your customer and finding a way to grab their attention. It's basic stuff like this that holds the average crafter back and keeps them from penetrating the mass market.
  5. Just wanna say hello. I have been whipping up BB as well as container candles for roughly 7 years now. I work with both soy and paraffin as well as carry an entire BB line. Nice to be in a place where most of you seem to be striving for a common goal. I hope to continue to learn and grow and share some of my personal experience with you as well while I am here.
