  1. I have been using a receipe that I got in a CP kit. The receipe has coconut, olive, palm and macadamia oil in it. My question is and a silly one. Can I use any F.O and E.O with the macadamia oil in it. The reason is the scent for the kit is vanilla and while it is curing my friends say they can it smells nutty. And I would like to use any F.O and E.O in this receipe as it is a good first receipe to try. Thanks
  2. Hi Jeana I forgot to ask if I should add more Essential oil or will it still have the smell to it. Thanks
  3. Yes please Jeana. I am new to this so I'm not sure about rebatching. Can i leave it for a couple of days or do i need to do it right away?? I'm an Aussie and the only oven bag I can think of is plastic and it is used to cook chickens in to stop the splatter of oil does this sound like the bag you use? Thanks for everyone's help
  4. I have just made my second CP soap and I forgot to add the Hemp Seed Oil. Does anybody know if this will be a useless soap, or will it still work?? The ingredients are:200g Coconut Oil 400g Olive Oil 200g Palm Oil 50g HEMP SEED OIL 120g Lye 300g Water 15ml F.O Thanks
  5. Hi Guys. I'm testing my Pillar using Palm Wax and cdn 16 wick. I am half way down and have burnt the candle at 2 hours at a time. I have noticed that one side of the candle is soft. You could put a hole in it if pressed too hard. Is this normal??? Thanks
  6. Hi Lovinit from a fellow Aussie I buy my products from www.naturalcandlesupply.com.au and have been happy with their products and service. I'm only learning to it's fun but scary too. Like the fellow candle makers before buy a kit first to get a feel then buy their wick trial pack and then you can test which wick you like. That's if your doing a wick candle. Welcome to some addictive fun.
  7. If I use a glass jar that has a cork lid would that suck the scent out of the jar??? I'm using Ecoysoya wax if that matters. Thanks
  8. Hi Mozzie. I'm a Brizzie girl. I have started buying from Natural Candle Supply and buy their Ecosoya wax. What do you make?? I would love to buy some of the things they use on this forum but would be way to expensive. This is the best forum I've been on for info.
  9. I have been learning alot on this forum, but as much as this info is great, I was wondering if there are any aussies so I could find out what company they might use here and what waxes etc.. they use. Thanks
  10. Circle... you said about drowning, are you meaning that the flame goes out when it reaches the melt pool. Mine does this after about 1 hr and 20mins is this normanl, I thought it was something I did wrong. I have bought candles from the store before and never had this problem.

Hi Jessica. just burnt my monkey farts and I'm not quite sure about the smell of it (My Hubbie said it's good). They started to crack that night whilst still in the mould. My scales aren't working right at the moment:( . So I have measure by cups for the wax and using a dropper to measure the F.O. I'm buying a new one after Xmas. I started to look at the scent page but there isn't any suppliers from Australia on there but I will keep looking and reading. Where do you buy your scents from. Bev

YEH:yay: :yay: . I MADE A NICE SMELLING CHOCOLATE TART THE SECOND TIME ROUND. I MEASURE THE FRAGRANCE OIL BUY DROPS SO I ADDED 10 MORE THAN NORMAL. SOME OF THIS BATCH CRACKED ON TOP BUT THAT IS OKAY, AS I'M TRYING TO GET MY SMELL RIGHT FIRST. I MADE SOME THIS TIME WITH NO COLOUR BUT USED MONKEY FARTS FRAGRANCE. FINGERS CROSSED. MERRY CHRISTMAS:smiley2:

Hi everyone. I'm an Aussie. And this is the only site where I have been able to receive help from . Everyone else is into Soap Making. I will give your measurements a go for the Fragrance and see what happens. I went to the Markets and brought some to test out and WOW her Fragrance you could smell from Mars. None of my friends are into smelly things so it is a bit hard to test with people. Would anyone be game to give mine a try? I don't mind sending to the U.S.

Hi Jess05. I am using EcoSoya Pillar Blend. I used 190grams of wax (they come in flakes). with 1 colour chip and 20 drops of F.O. I poured at 60 degrees. I am going by what the supplier said. Does this sound right. I am going to try 25 drops next time to get a better fragrance. Or is the pouring temp wrong.

Thanks Ring of Fire. No, I am totally a Newbie at this:embarasse . I don't think I put enough Fragrance in. You can just smell the chocolate. So I will just add more next time and see what happens. Could I remelt the ones I have already made (they are coloured also) and add the fragrance again eg. instead of 20 drops add 25??. Should I wait for the wax to cool and through out in the garbage. Thanks
